Vladimir's lyrics reflect his views on how humanity has destroyed the world, forgotten law and understanding. His lyrics describe why humanity should Die off. If the GORE lyrics reflect Misanthropy, then they are the practical views of it; killing all humanity as a "what" and not a "why".

And this is a problem why? It's simply a different facet for the same concept.

The gore/violence facet is just blatant Hatred of humanity. The literal nihilistic/misanthropic facet is the reasoned, explained Hatred of humanity.

Back to topic: I find no lyrical meaning or interesting beliefs behind the GORE lyrics.

that poses the question though: Do lyrics HAVE to have interesting beliefs or really deep intelligent meaning? Not all metal has to be super high-brow, in fact, I'd almost say that very little metal should be. Besides, perhaps the band's motives behind writing these lyrics are just as deep and poignant as any other band's- it's just not shown in the writing itself.

No, we don't need Shakespeares and Edgar Allan Poes every time a metal band wants to write a song, and if every metal band was deep and philosophical, it'd kinda get monotonous and the ideals would all blend.

So we have bands like Tool Burzum and Sunn O))), and we can all spend big chunks of time analyzing their lyrics.

Although, I don't like bands that try to have deep lyrics (like those anti-political psuedo Protest songs). That's kind of annoying.

I think that bands who just sing about GORE and rape are the ones who cannot come up with anything else to say. Also they are usually the ones who try and make their music reflect their intended message. Also when they just go on and on about bludgeoning and dismemberment just gets boring at times. I get the fricken point.

Would it be a smart inference to say that many brutal/grind/gore/tech death band members would have taken Biology class 0

BL: I really don't care about lyrics half the time because vocals are so distroted sometimes that you can't even understand them in the first place. If they are not completely Distorted, some songs are easy to manipulate to get them to say what you want them to say.

usually i can't stand Goregrind type stuff (look up Cemetary Rapist and you'll understand why. that little wigger kid fuckin sucks0 ). bands like Lividity just never did anything for me, i Hate any band that gets too lyircally repetitive (with the exception of Deicide)

mini, you kind of contradicted yourself. The reason they "can't come up with anything else to say" is because they're "trying to make the music reflect their intended message". They wanna make Extreme, pummeling music, and GORE lyrics are the best fit for a sound like that.

hmmm?

well... I meant that the music takes the main stage when it comes to Brutal death bands (grind, GORE, porno, ect). The lyrics take second place as Far as I'm concernd , as seen in that awesome video clip 0

I see your point though, a Brutal death wouldn't want to sing about fairies and magical lands. (thats why we have Black Metal 0 )

Based on a quick metal-archives search, only one Black Metal band has "fairies" as one of their lyrical themes...
