I actually kind of liked it. There are some good rythms and melodies, the singing fits well to and i enjoyed most of the song in general.
I have to admit i'm disturbed by the "ooOOooOOh", i don't know i you call it, choirs?

Daym, that song was actually pretty dece...

The vocal style and the pace and tone of music suited rather well. I actually loved how the music transitions between a sort of black metalish to death metalish sound, enriches the song quite a bit. The ambience delivered from the echos of the guitars and other ambient effects added a nice touch to the music.

However, there is a couple of things which I thought were a bit "off" (Nothing major though). The transitions between passages were a bit too abrupt, considering the context in which the song was intended (well, I see it trying to involve an atmospheric component into the music). It could be a little more subtle. Although I didn't have a problem with the vocals being monotonous. I did think they were just a little out of time, because I couldn't align it with any particular part of the song. This made the song seem like it lacked a bit of direction and development.

Overall that was a pretty darn enjoyable song, with just some very minor things that I have to pick on. I'll give the song an 8/10

hehe it's funny I only really discovered Alcest recently (like three weeks ago, with Autre Temps) and I'm really loving Les Voyages de L’Âme. It had been a very long time since I had enjoyed music sang in my mother language . Even though it's sang in a way I don't even understand all the lyrics when I listen to Alcest, but I guess death Metal growls in english are often difficult to understand even for native english speakers too.
And to answer, I had not heard that song, it's beautiful, as you could expect from the band... :')
