Enigmatick says : Ulver's Bergtatt is getting better and better for me lately. The sharp, abrupt, yet somehow natural transitions from the lush, melodic folky stuff to the melodic, yet still ferocious Black Metal does wonders in really telling you a story. This is one you gotta listen to in the dark, without any outside distractions. It's just OVERFLOWING with wonderful Ideas and concepts. Damn near flawless, at least a 95+ for me.

It brings tears of joy to my eyes to hear you say that. 0
On the topic of albums we're getting into, I'm starting to like Megadeth's Rust in Peace, whereas before I couldn't quite get into it. The vocals are starting to click with me (I used to think them annoying). Only thing is, for now, I feel like all the best songs are put at the beginning and as the album progresses the songs get worse (although I'm sure that as time goes on I'll get to liking the latter songs just as much as the others).

Being clear, drawing the attention = pronounciated. It might be a little bit too directly translated from Dutch

Loudpipes says : I think Rotting Christ's Thy Mighty Contract would be just about perfect if it wasn't for the drum machine being a bit too loud during the faster moments. Absolutely fantastic record, these riffs are simply incredible.

I agree.

I'm beginning to think that the Black Sabbath debut album comes close to perfect. Just so much variety and such a great sound. They're moody/broody when they wanna be, atmospheric when they wanna be, hard and rockin' when they wanna be, and wild apeshit musicians when they wanna be.
There's a lot to be taken away from every track and Nothing goes by as bland or immemorable. Wicked World, to me, is the only loose cog (great song, just not quite as good as the rest), but other than that, a great album.

I could care less about every other Death album, but I consider Human to be perfect. It was the perfect mix of their older Death Metal sound and their later progressive sound.

Also, Blut Aus Nord's debut is flawless. Nothing else to say about that.

^ FUCK. YES. Ultima Thulee is like Hvis Lyset TAR Oss on crack, with more emphasis on the ambient than The Black metal but still mxing the two wonderfully. Hell, the artwork is kinda similar to Hvis, what with the black-and-white.

An album that Blut Aus Nord has still not topped, although The Work Which Transforms GOD comes close at times, plus it has a fucking cool as shit title. I'm gonna buy both once I get my next paycheck.

Blut Aus Nord is great. Ultima Thulee to me is a Soundtrack to being lost in a raging snowstorm. Some of the best keyboard-based melodies i've heard in Black Metal as well. Memoria Vestuta I is even better to me; more Aggressive while still being really atmospheric in tone and feel. The original artwork for that album is as appropriate as any you'll find.

Memoria Vestuta I is good, a little more hard-hitting, but it's not really as whacked-out as the debut so I don't prefer it.

Have you heard their newer stuff, perchance? I've been meaning to but i've heard it's a rollercoaster as Far as quality goes.

I've never heard their later records for some reason. I've heard a Ton of great things about The Work Which Transforms GOD in some of the circles I hang around in, but I haven't really given it a listen.
