Anyway it doesn't really matter what they re classed as. All that matters is that they're fucking ace. I like them a lot, especially Hanzel und Gretyl.

Rammstein isn't metal in the slightest, it's just industrialized hard rock.

They've got a few decent tunes nonetheless.

How so?
I mean, bands like Emmigrate and Eisbrecher are what I'd call Indus. rock, and there's a big difference between them and R+.

It's really not that complicated, just remove all the industrial sprinkles and get rid of the downtuning a bit and you basically have Hard Rock riffs.

There's a big difference Portal and Six Feet Under, yet both are still considered death metal. Genres do not have to follow extremely specific limitations.

Yeah, but songs like Rammstein and Wiener Blut are pretty metal... or at least I think so.
Anyway, I didn't think you'd be the type to listen to Rammstein; what stuff have you heard from them?

Well, metal-archives agrees with me on their metalness, just checked that out. Nice, i got backup.

Also, you were right with your original assumption; I don't really listen to Rammstein, but I heard a few tracks of of Mutter and they were alright. Nothing I'd go out of my way to listen to, but accessible and inoffensive. "Feuer Frei" in particular was pretty not bad.

Oh, and I SAW that one porn-type-music video they did for the song Pussy. It caused Blood to flow to my loins but the song sucked.

Maybe they weren't metal in their first 2 albums, but they started using more metal elements in their other albums starting from Mutter. Their latest album had a more metal sound than any other. Just listen to Weisses Fleisch, Sehnsucht and Spiel mit Mir, then listen to Rammlied, Waidmanns Heil and Wiener Blut, you'll see a big difference.

I agree. I really don't like the song Pussy at all. It's way too simple and the only thing special about it is Till Lindeman says 'dick'.
My favorite R+ songs would be Spiel Mit Mir and Feuer und Wasser.
