I think Stratovarius is the best one.Their style is Melodic Power but It's awesome!

Since you generally like the raw stuff, go for bands like Winter, Spina Bifida, (very) early Anathema, first Morgion, first Cathedral, Disembowelment, etc and if you're really into a very depressive Mood try Funeral acts like Thergothon, Skepticism...

Do any of you recall a band called Desolation that played atmospheric metal too? I remember listening to a few songs on an MP3 disc in the Winter 2001 issue of SOD magazine, if anybody knows what Im talking about.
