What are your favourite album intros?

It doesn't have to be an instrumental, just how the album opens as soon as you hit play.

I think one of my favourites would have to be:
Gris - Il était une forêt...

What are your favourites?

Trivmvirate - The Monolith Deathcult
-I love how this album has a trance-y like intro with choral singing right before it melts your face.

Gangrene - Mirrorthrone
-Little 5 second piano solo, and then my favourite album begins.

That's enough for now.

Sarva Mangalam - Kartikeya
Barbarossa (before the Storm)- Hail Of Bullets
Let the killing begin- Vital Remains
I usually skip through intro tracks since they're often just 40 seconds of lame Halloween music, but sometimes they can actually help set an introduction into the first real song on the album... Though the majority of em should probly be done away with. Especially in Black Metal bands

Shit, I Forgot this one. I love watching the live version of Dechristianize. Dave's face when he's screaming "Let the killing begin" at The End of the intro is insane.

I think "..." and "Begin" by Parkway is some real good intros. Of course they're several more good ones but these are really the best ones I think.

I love the way the FIRST Two Dimmy Burger albums start--For All Tid starts with Det Nye Riket and the first song in Stormblast starts out with a great piano/keyboard piece that was half ripped-off from a Power Metal band. Both these intros to me are a Million times better than any other intro Dimmu's hire-ons have come up with. Their placement is great as well. I get filled with nostalgia every time I hear 'em.

Also, in Arch Enemy's album Stigmata, there's an obligatory song and THEN a song that should've been an intro that leads into one of AE's best songs ever called Sinister Mephisto. If AE had made the smart decision and put the title song first, then that would've been one of the best intros.

Also, the keyboard intro to the album Hvis Lyset TAR Oss by Burzum is fantastic, as is the intro to the album Dopethrone by Electric Wizard (called Vinum Sabbathi), Carcass' intro to their album Reek of Putrefaction (Genital Grinder), the keyboard/guitar intro to Pink Floyd's album Wish you Were Here, the intro to Mayhem's Deathcrush (Silvester Anfang)... um, that's all I can think of for now.
