New info and artwork on Dimmu Borgir's next album has been released here. Anyone plan on getting this?

It depends. If they can make the music as epic as the album artwork, then it'll be awesome.

i'm pretty skeptical it'll be any good, In Sorte Diaboli was (personally) their worst album yet, there was hardly any deviation in sound on that cd, the only decent song was The Sacreligous Scorn, i barely remember how the rest of the album was, i thought it was pretty bad. the new album's gonna be called Abrahadabra... i dunno how well it'll turn out

Oh Jesus no.
I will try to listen to it but I am not putting any money on betting this album will be good or even okay.
The album art is the best on any Dimmu album since Spiritual Black Dimensions, but other than that I have no doubt it'll suck. Yet, I can't hold back the temptation. This is still the band that released For All Tid and Stormblast. Maybe, just maybe, they'll pull it back together. I did review their previous album on this site and as you can see, I thought it was terrible.

There is hope. During For All Tid/Stormblast era, they didn't have Vortex or Mustis. Those two albums were amazing. Now they don't have them again. It is just Shagrath, Galder and Silenoz. Also, they have stated that they are getting real choirs and an orchestra to record with them. Don't give up hope... but there is that chance it'll still be horrible.

Yesterday I read an early review of the album in Aardschok ( a Dutch Metal mag). The album should sound more like Death Cult Armageddon than In Sorte Diaboli. More bombastic sounds, more symphonic elements etc... but the guitars seem not clear enough, they are too much on the background. We'll see what's coming towards us

cool, as long as its not more of whatever the Hell they were doing on In Sorte Diaboli, i hated that album. Deathcult was a decent album though

Oh, crap. Death Cult Armageddon wasn't very good either.
And Dimmu has had a live choir in P.E.M. as well.
Also, on In Sorte Diaboli I think the only good thing about the album was Vortex's Voice, even though it seemed to be placed haphazardly in the songs...

I am a little interested that Dimmu waited all this time for a title song. I wonder what it'll sound like; I'm hoping for a melacholic instrumental with guitars and stuff, like in their early song Glittertind.

Well, we'll know soon. The single Gateways is being released on the 20th. We'll find out if it is another In Sorte Diaboli.

It sounds Godly (Gateways), in my opinion.

Shagrath uses growls, not just shrieks. His clean vocals are awesome. The guitar is way faster than In Sorte Diaboli. Drumming is brutal.

Not sure about you guys, but I love this.
