I have a Hard Time finding the purpose with this thread, really?

And Satyricon and Dimmu Borgir, true black?

I guess the purpose would be something to give a heads up to those new to the scene. I do agree with you about dimmu and Satyricon but i think of them as more pop/shock rock type stuff kinda like how i think of dani filth (that dirty midget) as the english Marilyn Manson only with a heavier edge but a 3 year Old with Down Syndrome could pull off better LOL.

edit: Anyways, i could care less about the messages Black Metal sends as long as they produce good music that's all that matters to me. Which is probably why i've gotten out of stuff i used to like back when i was 18.

I can see the connection between the paganism and satanism. In fact I have heard some christians for years say they are the same thing and both are Evil

god0111010011 says : If i remember correctly, i've seen and read interviews with bands like Venom and it was more about having fun above all else. They were never into the whole satanic aspect other than for fun, it was bands like Burzum and Mayhem who took it an extra mile and started a bunch of crap. I don't look at music as a gateway for changing personal beliefs though, i've always been agnostic and not letting anyone but me change that. BM bands have calmed Down alot since the 90s though which i'm happy about because I Live in a bible belt and i am Sick of being acused of being something i'm not, but hey i guess i bring that on myself going out in BM band t-shirts lol

Agreed, most bands take on the image and not the intent. Original Black Sabbath was a perfect example
