Thirwërod was formed by Necromantick in 2019, after he stopped the activities with his previous band Necro Sorcery (Black/Thrash).
Thirwërod focuses on lyricial themes such as The Elder Scrolls game saga, Lord of the Rings and also the Soulslike games, with the main focus being the game Skyrim; other lyrical themes are solitude, depression, mother nature and philosophy. From the first album Tales of Witchcraft to the second one Land of Eternal Winter, the band had a huge change in its sonority and riffs, going from raw black metal to melodic black metal very quickly.
Necromantick's influences and inspirations for Thirwërod are: Bathory, Nargaroth, Summoning, Isengard and Emperor.
