biografía : Bane (USA-2)

Conceived in late 1994, BANE was created due to the efforts of Drummer Arturo Cotero, Guitarists David Renteria, Robert Lepe, bassist Salvador Fernandez and vocalist Rocky Ruiz. After playing a few shows, BANE immediately received a good response from the crowd. A 5 song demo was recorded in mid 1997. Unsatisfied with the outcome of this flfst recording, BANE decided not to release it. A month later, Roberto Lepe left the band to attend a University, leaving the band in good terms. BANE decided to place an ad for a new guitarist. Reggie Galang responded and learned all the songs quickly. BANE was ready to record once again along with a new batch of songs. Within a years time, BANE has opened up for touring acts such as Morbid Angel, Incantation, Cryptopsy, Immolation, Vader, Oppressor, Deeds of Flesh, Nile, Disgorge, Angelcorpse, Fleshgrind, Mortician, Infamy, and Gorguts. Responses from these shows have been excellent from both the crowd and the headlining bands.

Around mid-February 1998, Salvador left the band as he decided that his job came first. Ads were posted up in search of a new bass player. Bassist Anton responded a few weeks later. BANE was impressed by his ability to learn the songs while his skills stabilized the band into higher grounds.

During this line-up, BANE started production of their first CD "Vehemence: The Cathartic Remnants of Chaos, Virtue, and Time", self-released in Febuary 2002 marking the beginning of what is yet to come. Prior to its release, the production was delayed due to financial and other interpersonal reasons. BANE has written new material since then and is defying death metal standards by fusing brutality, melancholy, melody and originality to create a sound like no other.Currently, BANE is ready to play shows and hopefully tour this year to promote "Vehemence: The Cathartic Remnants of Chaos, Virtue, and Time."

As of August 2001, Anton quit the band to pursue his career and finish school. While BANE remains as a four piece, they will continue their efforts in writing extreme music.
