http://www.metal-fi.com/obituary-slowly-rot/ Slowly We Rot (...) was reissued by Roadrunner in 1997, with a new master by George Marino at Sterling Sound. This same master was also used for the “two from the vault” double disc compilation release with Cause Of Death from 2003. (...) this version is actually an improvement over the original, with much better separation of instruments. It’s definitely louder than necessary, but not to the point of doing severe damage.
(...)
So which version should you buy? To my ears, the original vinyl takes first place, with the vinyl reissue and remastered CD a very close second and third, and the original CD release bringing up the rear.
