DSR-EVIL-XXI- Witchclan - "The Dark Binding" Tape 2014



After three long years, UK Black Metal outfit Witchclan release a brand new full length album entitled 'The Dark Binding'. Having received great reviews from the previous album 'Misanthropist', this new release Promises to be just as Bestial whilst pushing the boundaries of Darkness even further.

There are 8 songs plus an intro and an outro of Bestial Hell Metal which will leave you wanting to hear it again and again. Most of the material is brand new apart from a re-recording of a 2009 demo song and a re-imagining of a Witchclan song which dates back to 1994.

Produced and mixed by Witchclan, the sound on the album is a mixture of raw energy and Majestic craftsmanship - and if you like your Black Metal to be raw but with a bit of polish on the top then this is for you. Whilst the previous album lacked a bit in the mixing department, special attention HAS been given to making sure each song is mixed so that each Element compliments each other.

Lyrically, 'The Dark Binding' continues in an Occult theme - with a strong influence coming from the original Necronomicon. The lyrical content is as haunting as Ever, and cuts no corners in delivering a Journey of dark uncompromising majick!

Finally, the artwork. Witchclan are happy to have had the pleasure of working with Igor Mugerza once again who did the art on the last Two releases. This time around, Witchclan gave Igor a concept piece which was crudely drawn up and asked him to put his style and take on it. What he came up with will blow your mind - and is probably his best work to date, whilst fitting the concept of the whole album perfectly. On the subject of art - there is also a brand new take on the Witchclan logo which is in line with the feel of the album whilst maintaining elements of the original ambigram logo (a logo which reads the same upside Down).

All in all we think you will enjoy the new offering from Witchclan. It offers something for everyone, whilst staying True to The Black Metal style it also incorporates elements of Thrash, Death and Doom Metal. 'The Dark Binding' proves that Witchclan is in no uncertain terms, a force to be reckoned with.
