I don't listen to deathcore, so I don't have an opinion about it - just that it isn't my cup of tea. However, you should listen to what you like - not what other people say it's cool.

I don't think it's gay because i think most people who listen to it are straight. But 'gay' is mainly used as an insult these days so if I'm gonna answer that it would be what Raina said.

I wouldn't say it's "gay", but more of saying the whole genre and all the bands that label themselves and accept themselves as "Deathcore" suck hella bad.

I also define this genre "scene kid rock".

yeah, i Hate the scene kid Death/Metal Core shit that's so popular here in the US.

I Dont think its gay. Bands that actually have clean vocals and some screams are not far from Melodic Death. But bands like Suicide Silence are gay, because they have, just about no structure adn just scream incoherent shit 0

Dammit, most deathcore today is horrible (as Ryan said, Suicide Silence sucks). I prefer the type of deathcore that has rhythms of Metalcore and the type of screaming, but they don't do those growl to scream to growl bullshit. A amazing example of good deathcore would be Darkest Hour (I consider them this):

1. Death Metal rhythms are in songs, but you can still hear the Metalcore base of it
2. Their lyrics aren't useless popularity gaining crap, unlike most deathcore bands today.
3. Sure, they may use breakdowns, but they use them in the style of Death Metal, blasting those breakdowns heavier than most deathcore bands.
4. THEY DON'T PROMOTE SCENE FASHION OR TRY TO BE POPULAR!

There are exceptions, of course. You may not say that Darkest Hour are deathcore, but they sound like deathcore without being sellouts like most today. Listen to The Misinformation Age and it will sound like a mix of Metalcore and Death Metal, but not like Suicide Silence's failed attempt.
