haha, sucks to hear. I read that book and still read chapters sometimes every now and then, but a movie? Well, to me, it should stay as a book. I hope they don't or I might just buy it and have to chuckle a little bit if it has Twilight in it.

yes it is very very bad for Black Metal in general, comercialism is the worst possible thing that can happen to a Black Metal band, if this movie gets Out, it sould potentially turn Black Metal into the next big trend like vampires is now, true fans need to stand up and tell the hollywood media to fuck off

Man, did you Live in a cave for the last 20 years? That movie is just going to add up to what COF, Dimmu, and whatnot symphonic Pagan epic folk shitty BM bands have done for as long as I can remember.

There still are true Brutal BM bands Out there and they probably don't give a damn about that movie because they know it's not the people that are going to watch it that buy from the distros or travel hundreds of kilometers just to see a band play live.

And you may or may not like it but BM IS fucking trendy. Even bands like Blasphemy or Archgoat are being listened to by blogspot 14-yo leeches.

If you don't like it, just don't pay attention to it. Simple as that.

true very true, but Black Metal has never been in the MAIN spot light before, which is what could unfortunantly happen if this film isn't stopped, it won't be underground chatrooms and shit, it'll be in malls and clothing stores, imagine teenagers who know nothing of Black Metal walking around in Burzum shirts thinking they're sooo super, like, evil. that aint gonna be good fer any of us TRUE fans, who know about the genre and support the bands, i for one am sick of vikernes beating his aryan politics stance into the ground, and making himself look dumber and dumber, i don't think HE knows what he's talking about anymore, and shouldn't be influencing a movie on Black Metal, which is a genre he claims to "want nothing to do with anymore".

In France and in other European countries, you can buy Dark Throne, Burzum or Dimmu Borgir at your local supermarket (say Walmart for US references) sometimes even things a bit more 'underground'.

Take also a look at all the blogs there is Out there where teenagers put on corpsepaint and rave on how Gorgoroth and Tsujder are just the shit.

If you look at ebay under the metal section, you'll see that BM releases are like twice as much as DM or any other metal genre because every teen (or not so teen) loser with a DAT, a guitar and fruity loops thinks he can produce masterpieces in his basement.

BM is a popular music no matter what. Now everybody's so excited about how hot Sarcogago or Vulcano's musical awesomeness is where only a few thousand die-hard fans knew about them some 20 years ago.

The church burning thing and other outrageous things about that style that were so it could be kept so pure have produced exactly the opposite of what the bands were looking for. It put them so much under the spotlights that now listening to Gorgoroth or Blasphemy is just as unPC as listening to Slipknot.

That movie is certainly not going to help but it won't be responsible for a situation that already is.

Sorry about the long diatribe.

huh... guess i never really heard bout any of that... either way, that movie will only make Black Metal even more popular, which is exactly the opposite of what all true BM bands are about

yep, it's official, they're gonna start filmin that piece of shit in November, and some Douche bag from Twilight wil also be in it. hopefully, some of the big names in Black Metal will form some kinda Protest thing against it, i know that Varg Vikernes has said he will not contribute to the film and says that their story is complete bullshit about the early Norwegian Black Metal bands. i wouldn't mind them makin a documentary about Black Metal, but this is gonna be an actual Big Budget Hollywood movie with Teenage hollywood stars, maybe miley cirus and the jonas Brothers will show up in the film too hahaha, ( I hope to Oden they don't). i wonder if Fenriz knows about this movie... hmm...
