Sliced Bread were the pub covers version of
Nutz, after they and the later derivative R a g e, along with their compardre band, Export, had split in the early 80s, before and after the tragically untimely death of John Mylett, after which Lou Rosenthal stepped in to do the drums full time.
There seems to be no recordings of their pub stuff, from The Cumberland for example, but their renditions of Hollywood Nights and Midnight Hour, plus other standards, live long in the memory of this then twenty something.
They all played with
Ian Gillan to some degree in Garth Rockett and the Moonshiners and were superb musicians.
