I am sick of the commercial bands getting shown on both teh radio and TV. I think they are such fake bands. just have the goal to get so succesful and great. The kinds of bands getting shown in Kerrang magazines which irratated me like a bitch.

Exactly, metal bands try to hard to come famous, when they get to a certain level. it all goes Down hill musically. It's like they dont have to try anymore because they are rock stars. i just Hate the bands that seem to always be on Tv soaking up new breed crazes they seem to have got them selfs into despite it being there dream not to be like thats. It contridicting themselves all the time

personally i feel a7x are a great band and have no way cashed in on the fact theyve got made up names and saying that neither of them are musical is a load of shit because syn gates is an exceptionally good guitarist and can play a lot better than any Underoath member who in my opinion are not exactly a great band themselves and have grown Out of the emo-core scene into a band that feel they have the right to bad mouth other groups who they hate.

I personally Despise AX7. Gates isn't exactly a fantastic guitarist, and I don't even consider them to be metal. Still, if you like them, that's cool.

I don't have issues with bands who are publicized - if they're good, they're good. Sadly, most metal that's popular is crap (Trivium, Metallica, etc.).

HOWEVER!
There's a scientific reason for this;
You must be of a higher intellectual capacity to comprehend metal and classical music and understand the layerings etc. To people of average intellect, metal sounds like mere noise. Therefore, simple, unimaginative "metal" with a lot of popular influences usually becomes popular itself.
The more you know!

I've had this conversation before with my ex-music teacher, and I think you're absolutely right. That's why the most simple and ordinary songs are usually the most famous.

It just sucks tho, because bands that i liked that are now becoming ever so more popular with every gig they play, i have noticed there music style is getting worse.

prime example, Eluveitie. Spirit - such a good album, Andro is one of my favourate instrumentals ever, its my ring tone. Slania, another good album - Inis mona, was a good song, it is quite catchy. but it is one of the songs people that try and look popular are into. personnaly i like the metal cover of the song by FFerytll myself.

Eluveities new album, that was released this year. was absolute shit. what was it got a certain level of fame and decided, there music is gonna have no screams, no growls. not alot of heavy riffs and interludes and more technotronic sounds to the flute. jesus christ why... bring back the Old stuff..

Well, what do you understand under "real" or "fake" Metal? For me, if a song has heavy guitars and Drums, i like it, i don't really care if it is real or fake, nor if the band is popular.
 
But i agree with you there, it sucks when bands change their music when they become more popular.
