We are all bound to get fucked by the goverment sooner or later too - eastern Europe is already a 'problem zone' which everybody anticipates will get into some sort of trouble, since that is what it is supposed to do. 
 
I tend to think that the situation in Greece was simply bad enough to be used as a distraction to cover up all sorts of corrupt businesses in other places (I am absolutelly scandalized at how the European Commission can grant funds to all sorts of absolutelly useless projects in my country, under the pretext of 'development'- they simply want to endebt us. And I am sure this happens in a lot of other countries, not only here.) And tax paying citizens, retired people and students are always the ones to pay...

Oh yeah, i Saw some the protests on tv the other day. The Greek Government should live within their means. If it wasnt for the French Government (Well i think it was the french) paying their debts the world would be in another recession. (From what i heard on tv.). But, Raina's right. Countries' Governments are fucked. Here in Tasmania (Australia) the bloody state government tries to tax anyone for anything. Like to get your L's (Drivers license. 16 yrs old) you have to pay like 40 bucks, then after 3 months, you go for your L2 test, which costs 60 bucks. Log 60 plus hours then go for a P's test. Which Means more money. Then, after, 2-3 years you get your full license and leave your provisional license. But, there's still fucking rego you have to pay, and that seems to be increasing every year. Hydro is going up. In the near future, the whole would will be in a war over resources. And by resources i mean food, Water etc

Like we ever wanted their money . How you think its possible that they give us money , yet every single greek is forced to pay even more ? Those money are all to support their bank system , so they will be freely to Drain the money we "owe" them in any Means possible . Be that land , or resource production  , or just for us to be able to pay being in the Europian nations .
I cant even number the scandals we had because of their involvement . Military equipment bought in like 3 times its price ( submarines and airplanes if i can recall ) , selling state properly to foreign investors like half its value , education system changes that crippled our youth , telecomunication issues (SIEMENS) that even involved recording chips , Decline of the best deal Greece would ever have for a gas pipe , made together with middle east countries and so on .
No need to mention that greece after The End of world war 2 (even being in the side of the winners ) was in Ruins , and they gave us the money to stand in our feet . Thats the money we generally owe , along with the money given when we entered Europian Nations . So...we are using each support dose to cover the previous Hole they opened . How is that helping us ?
Ryan , you should not accept everything you hear at the news without personal judgement .
And Raina , yes you are right . We had the same issues here . We were guided into "development" in aspects we didnt even need .
My personal opinion (and thats supported by  reporters i talked with ) is that Greece is like an experiment . Of how much they can Push the payments , without the people breaking and causing a revolution . When we do , they will leave us to Die as they want , and use the information they gained upon the next Victims , the other countries on  the verge of asking help . Thats why they are pushing so much . They dont want to help , they want to Drain out as much as they can before we break .

Right, i accept that. I still dont see how Greece has to repay the money to the nations that helped them after WWII. Wouldnt you think siding with the Allies was enough considering the brutallity at the hands of German soldiers? Either way, the world is pretty much fucked. I thought our Government was bad, your's seems downright harsh, and deffinately corrupt. And yeah, it's like Australia and China. Im pretty sure we borrowed money from the Chinese, and like on the mainland, even in Tassie, we have sooo many Asian People. Not saying it's a bad thing, but they are literally everywhere, buying everything. From what ive been told, if you went to Japan, foreigners cant buy land. (or some such bullshit.). What im trying to say is, Japan/China will want something in return, maybe even (this may seem downright harsh, mean wahtever) the tsunami might of helped us aa little bit. We provided them with much needed resources.

What Greece needs to do is sell their little islands to an Evil genius. Iceland should do the same with their volcano's. Every Evil Genius needs either an island or an hollowed out Volcano as their base for plotting evil. Debt problem solved

Ahahah , well said . No need though , if we start selling pieces of land , Turkey will buy all of them , so no greece->no dept->problem solved

That would still be called Greece, even if all property is owned by turks. Only turks will have to endure your government legislation that comes with owning that land.
Actually, there would be a problem for greek too, if that were to hypothetically happen, since you would have no place to live. You would either have to buy a piece of property or rent it from the turks, since you've got to live somewhere too.
 
And since when did turks have so much money? Greece has way more rich people, I think.
