OPIUM WARLORDS LIVE AT COLONIA DIGNIDAD



The staff at their label Cobra has never
met this group nor has it received any answers to their questions
regarding the band. The recording sessions of their debut album OPIUM
WARLORDS LIVE AT COLONIA DIGNIDAD were interrupted by a court case. The
master tapes of the album were found in a plastic bag from the doorstep
of the record label. The covering letter was signed by S.A.H. which most
probably stands for Sami Albert Hynninen of Reverend Bizarre, The
Puritan and Spiritus Mortis fame. Could this be a Prince- kind of
totality where the writing, producing and performing are all credited to
one person only?

The same hand written letter brings out a list of band names such as
Toto, Venom, Burzum, Terveet Kadet and Classic Nouveaux. These appear to
be some of the musical influences of Opium Warlords. Is Opium Warlords
making fun of us? Does Opium Warlords care of us? What is Opium Warlords?

Opium Warlords is a mystery.

Opium Warlords is currently recording their second album

The forerunner of Occult Ambient Rock from Finland, Opium Warlords, is currently recording their second album TASTE MY Sword OF UNDERSTANDING. The recordings, engineered by Jouni Leppikangas,  started in March and are taking place in Lohja, Finland. The album will be released in 2010.
Opium Warlords’ 2009 debut “Live at Colonia Dignidad” got rave reviews from the press and was praised for its slow, heavy and uncompromising sound, not to mention the dark humor and general weirdness surrounding the band.
