| Raina says : I wouldn't attribute their fame to talent or brilliant songs. I attribute them to bussiness and marketing strategies. Meaning they know how to promote and sell their crap . Make an image, a name which people would automatically associate with being cool or trendy, as well as with being 'normal & fun'. Just think designer clothes: they are just normal pieces of rags, but they are called 'Gucci' or 'Versace' or whatever, and that makes people spend money and like them, instead of getting the same damn things at a no-brand cheaper. What Madonna and Michael Jackon did isn't just catchy music - there were a shitload of pop artists even in the 70's and 80's that did the same thing. It's business, sales, creating scandals and appearing in all media - that's what gave them the 'legend' status. As a contrast to real legends like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, bands like Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden who didn't need that(at least not to such a great extent) to get famous. Enigmatick, you're grounded! Go to your room, put some real metal and meditate on your last messages... |
