My sister loves Alcest and Agalloch and her favorite band is Nightwish, but if you ever touch her I'll fucking break your legs.

One band I think's rather overrated is Satyricon...even their albums that are highly regarded are kind of mediocre and their later career when they turned into piss-poor rock music is just awful.

I agree. Satyricon has always been boring.

The Somberlain is an album I can listen to pretty much all day, any day of the week... but to each his own.

I have Satyricon's first album, and while it had some pretty respectable moments, it never really struck me as a truly great album... I remember it was actually really kind of messy at times. I really do love the album art to it though.

Here's one that'll stir some shit: Incantation. boring boring boring BORING shit, this isn't Evil, this is just a long rumbling fart, and all of their albums sound the goddamn same. I like a lot of samey-sounding war metal stuff like Revenge and Nuclearhammer, but these guys just have absolutely no enthusiasm or energy behind their monotonous dirge.

I actually agree with you for once I don't get all the hype surroundig incantation. Tried to get into em many times, but... They just suck. Wouldn't really consider em overrated, but they're definitely boring. And yes, I have listened to onward to Golgotha and I still don't like em.
And to add a band to the bitchlist: Keep of Kalessian. Same brand of bland, monotonus boredom as Incantation (even though they're a totally diffrent genre, theres just Nothing appealing about em to me)
