Darkestrah is song epic Black Metal from Kyrgyzstan, Groza is dark/black metal from Turkey, and Senmuth is a one-man experimental doom band that are from Russia, but the Middle eastern influence is very noticeable in songs of the concept albums (mostly Egyptian influence).

I may be religious, but I have to agree. It is Sad that because of the certain religion (in this case, Islam) in places like Iran or Saudi Arabia, they prohibit metal to Extreme degrees. I even remember in the documentary Global Metal it interviewed a guy that said he was put into jail for about a day or so just because he was wearing a Slayer shirt; this was talking about a guy in Iran I believe.

right on man, i love that movie global metal, that guy, Sam Dunn is in a really good Death/Thrash band called Burn to Black, well he WAS in it, i think they split-up awhile back
