It depends so much. If a song is a
Killer, then it's not that big issue even if the lyrics are not that great, and vice versa of course.
I pretty much think the vocalist as one instrument of the band and merely dig the sound of him/her than the words. Especially nowadays since I don't have enough time to deeply listen any new bands, there might come surprises when I finally concentrate to listen, what they really sing
Chorus might give wrong idea...
Of course if both lyrics and melodies rocks, it's even better.
Anyway the lyrics are stories and any political or religious (not
Pagan megal though) gushiness gives me rash...
I listen music to enjoy, not to take orders...
On the other hand I'm not native english speaker so some things I might miss
