Except a Few
How it was
2002
The band was created in 2002. At that time none of them knew how to play his instrument. At that time they were on the first course in the Russian – Armenian State Slavonic University. The dream could become true...
The band’s first lineup for the 2002
Artyom Harotenian – lead guitar
Vahe Davtian – bass guitar
Alexander Balian – flute
Nikolai Torosian – guitar
Astronom – drums
But the result was that that they came to a disagreement and decided to quit playing together.
In some time Artyom Harotenian managed to unite some new musicians and record a demo album "Except a Few" and a full-lenght album “Above” in a Symphonic Doom – Black genre. It was the 2004-th.

The band’s lineup for the 2004
Artyom Harotenian - vocals, solo guitar
Lusine Eritsian - female vocals, keyboards
David Sahakian - rhythm guitar
Arman Avetisian - bass guitar
Karen Movsisian - drums
Nadezhda Ivanova - cello
Irina Danielian - viola
Karine Khalantarian - violin
Ksenia Tarasova – violin
Everything seemed to be all-right, they recorded another one called “The World Goes Insane” in the same genre but again everything was versus them, and again a split-up lineup. It took place by misunderstanding between the band’s players
2005
After a long period of wandering in different genres (heavy-metal, power, neo-classic) Artyom Harotenian met Dmitry Klochko who was just returned from Russia. A beginner-drummer David Olizarenko joined them. They began to play together, wrote some songs and decided to record a new album. But a few months later David went to the army. Artyom and Dmitry decided to work on together but Dmitry was taken to prison and the recording just failed to be.

Dmitri Klochko – bass guitar, rhythm guitar, vocal
David Olizarenko - drums
2006
And again the band’s leader - Artyom Harotenian in spite of that curse which seemed to be on the Except a Few tried to unite the guys to whom he trusted though they didn’t have enough skill to play. David Olizarenko returned from the army and they walked on. Artyom invited a friend of his David Manasian who gave the idea to create a band as a bass – guitarist. He wrote some new songs in a genre that has never been played in Armenia (psychedelic, neo-classic metal).

Artyom Harotenian - lead guitar
David Olizarenko – drums
David Manasian – bass guitar
Atoyan Garen – vocal
Vasakian Argishti – rhytm solo
Now they are taking over their third album which will be called "Armenia".
We hope that the curse is over and they will enjoy us with their work.
