'Not unlike the waves' is an amazing song indeed - more like an 'experience', since it's the type of music you have to live... My favorite Agalloch song is 'Falling snow' (on a death battle with 'Hallways of enchanted ebony')

The Fecal Rebellion doesn't exactly have an inviting name, I'd have to give it a few more listens, to see if it grows on me.

Now for my favorite songs (I think ..., I have a really Hard Time deciding on my favorite bands and songs). I'll add clips for the lazy:

Opeth - The Twilight is my robe - this is probably my favorite song, I just like the melodic line very much- don't have any elaborate reason.

Iron Maiden - The Rime of the Ancient Mariner .. Powerslave is also my favorite Maiden Album. I'm tempted to say a thing like 'if you haven't listened to that album, you're not metal!'

Black Sabbath - Megalomania ... it might not seem like a big deal to many. Also 'Children of the sea'

Negura Bunget - Cunoasterea Tacuta (Wordless Knowledge) ...has the most beautiful and haunting flute playing along The Black metal melody. Actually the whole song is amazing with breathtaking atmospheric moments.

Hypocrisy - Eraser ... Ever Since the first time listening to it, I was blown away by those riffs . This is METAL.

I realize I'm easy Prey for catchyness.

This is favorite song from any genre right? well that's too fucking hard, I have hundreds of them. I will post a handful songs that have stood the test of time and are the best of the best. I'm not adding any modern metal, in fact I'm not adding much metal at all. If you could put all these songs into a machine that turns songs into humans, then human would look like me.

Actually, Mirrorthrone is only one guy, as I said before: Vladimir Cochet. I consider this whole album (Gangrene) to be perfect. Every song is unique. So Frail has Power, Une Existence dont plus Personne ne Jouit has emotion, Ganglion has experimentation, The Fecal Rebellion has atmosphere and meaning (read the lyrics), No One by My Side has beauty, and Dismay has darkness. Every song on the album has one part of it perfected. With all of these on the same album, it becomes perfect. The Fecal Rebellion is my favourite because it has the perfection as the rest of the album does, but the lyrics of it make it my favourite off of it.

yeah well, you could say it that way... but...  the point is i'm not talking about this song because it's my favorite,or because of it's energy or any sequence by itself,i'm talking about it from musical Harmony aspects... and it's fucking NEW,for so many fucking black/death metal bands and shit-i hear same shit, even mirrorthrone's other songs are typically harmonized, there's no new musical phrases or anything, may it sounds energetic, cool and stuff (like any black/death metal band would) but come on,i'm tired from this 50 y.o. selfrepeating shit and here comes the "so frail"... it has new Harmony, some new scale based look for music and after so many ''experimenting'' bands, mirrorthrone's this experiment is really succesfull,he invented something new into music by this song,so it can't be compared to all other standard songs,it has whole new structure,i spent 2 hours looking for songs alike but 0-i found Nothing that sounds like it,not a single composition.the only music structure that is close to Mthrone is J.S.Bach's but not exactly... if bach were listening,he would be shocked from progressive look unto his music.it's not about opinion you know,it's clean mathematical result,Mthrone's "so frail" has whole new lvl, unique music structure... it's not that i don't like other stuff, but compared to this, everithing other are too... well repetitive and boring.

That is true; So Frail isn't like any of his other songs. I too have searched endlessly for a similar band to Mirrorthrone, but to no avail.

Say, have you heard Vladimir's other bands? (Unholy Matrimony, Weeping Birth)

10,000 Days by Tool
Waldpoesie by Empyrium
No Quarter by Led Zeppelin

I like these.  Tool did a cover of No Quarter on Salival.  It's not as good, but not bad.  Also listen to APC's version of When the Levee Breaks on eMotive, I like it and you can't really compare it to the original because it's a completely different approach.  Both work in my opinion.

No doubt 10,000 Days is good, but I still prefer Lateralus.

I love Led Zeppelin's more epic songs, No Quarter, Achilles Last Stand, and The Battle of Evermore.
