God Is An Astronaut, Kraftwerk, Death In June, Nyctalgia, The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud.

That mostly comprises of really good non-metal stuff I've been listening to recently. Also, Sol Invictus is really starting to grow on me as well.

EDIT: why the FUCK are Death In June on SoM? They're a great band but nowhere CLOSE to metal. Seriously, what the shit?

Yep, and Sol Invictus cancelled their show here in Bucharest... my life is uneventful once again.

Bands that are not metal:

The Beatles
The Doors
David Bowie (till the mid 80s)
The Kinks
Bad Comapny
Thin Lizzy
The Who
Screaming Lord Sutch
a few Rolling Stones songs
90's Red Hot Chilli Peppers
T. Rex
Sex Pistols
The Ramones

Romanian folk (rock) bands like Phoenix, Celelalte Cuvinte, Pasarea Colibri, Odyssey.
Actually a lot of 60's and 70's rock bands. Also a few gay disco songs.

I also like some blues, jazz, swing, bossa nova, rock a billy and 50 - 70's r 'n'b.

So yeah, there is some stuff out there worth listening to, except for the awesome metal.

Death In June (Neofolk)
Current 93 (Dark Ambient, or Neofolk, dunno)
Sopor Aeternus (Darkwave)
some Kraftwerk (Electronic)
Prurient (Harshnoise)
A french Dark Ambient band, I can't remember their name right now
Eisbrecher (Electronic/Industrial Rock)
Combichrist (Industrial)
Vinnie Paz (Hip Hop)
Beethoven and Vivaldi (both classical)
John Zorn (Jazz Fusion)
The Gerogerigegeg (Noise)
Dirty Granny Tales (Experimental)

Dawn Of Ashes (Aggrotech, now bad Melodeath)
Thin Lizzy (Hard Rock)
Fantomas (Experimental)

Cosmic Jokers (Space Rock)
Stille Volk (Medieval, Celtic Music)
Centhron (Industrial)
King Crimson (Experimental Rock)
Serj Tankian (I'll call it Alternative)
Jimi Hendrix (well, classic rock)
ASP (Industrial/Gothic Rock)

These are the ones that don't fall into categories, which have 'metal' in their names.
Also I have songs from bands/artists from various other genres, but these are just 2 or 3 songs from each.

EDIT: I Forgot about Alien Vampires, The Residents and Dead Can Dance

GG Allin, though some of his songs were pretty Brutal

Monday 13 December 2010 - 22:56:18
Serj Tankian (Art Rock)
Mr. Bungle (Who the Hell knows?)
Senmuth (He is metal, but 75% of his stuff is ambient and folk)
Tenhi (Neofolk)
God Is An Astronaut (best damn post-rock ever)
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Classical)
Antonio Vivaldi (Classical)
30 Seconds To Mars (Progressive rock/alternative)
Venetian Snares (Breakcore?)

Lostprophets (Alternative)
Muse (Progressive rock)

MGMT (Psychedelic pop)

EDIT: FUCK WHAT? Venetian Snares IS ON HERE??

Monday 13 December 2010 - 23:38:49
So is 30 Seconds to Mars. Who the cock does validation on this site?
Oh, and I TOTALLY Forgot about Thin Lizzy, although I'd consider them metal anyways. Anybody that influences The Lord Weird Slough Feg automatically kicks ass by default.

Oh, and The Devil's Blood are a great band, too, doomish occult-rock stuff. The site probably considers them metal though, as their atmosphere is rather metallic in nature.

EDIT: Look at that, they do. Jesus shit this place can't get it genres straight.
