My favorite album from 2010 would be La Iglesia Del Odio by Impureza ! Its very refreshing and highly original yet still very Brutal and technical just like any other modern Death Metal album would be.

Speaking of Death Metal, I would be uselessly lying if I said that it was a hard choice. Come to think of it, there's not very much of Death Metal to listen to since the year started off. I mean if you take a look back in 2008/2009, this year we really don't have much to be proud of !

i might suggest taking a listen to Path of Fire by Aeon if you haven't listened to it yet, probly my favorite Death Metal release this year, but Hour Of Penance's Paradogma was pretty good too,

apparently God Dethroned has a new album coming out soon. Looking forward to that, they're one of my favorites. even though they've gone a little more melodic over the last couple albums

damn, i didn't even know they had a new album out already, their last album was pretty awesome too, i'll have to check it out

I own Path of Fire, and I dunno why people seem to be saying it's great. Sounded really sterile and directionless, not like Aeon's previous two albums, which were no-bullshit to-the-point Death Metal that kicked some serious ass.

Anyways, the new Immolation impressed me as usual, as well as Triptykon's debut. Still not declaring a winner until the new Agalloch comes out though.

There's loads of other bands that released great shit too, but I can't think of them at the moment.
