Alright, so I'm pretty new to the doom genre (besides
Funeral doom, which I've always liked). The image portrayed by many of the bands really makes
No Sense to me. I'm just wondering why bands like
Black Sabbath,
Candlemass,
Cathedral, and
Witchfinder General use upright crosses in their imagery when they have clearly dark/occult/violent/satanic lyrics. Also, in contrast to these lyrics about
Evil, why is there an apparent fascination with witch hunting? Shouldn't they
Hate witch hunters instead of
Extol them?
After All,
Witches were considered Satan's agents on
Earth, so
Witches and anti-christians should share common bounds.
