I've been meaning to check out Blasphemer. After what you said, I really want to check them out.

As The Weird Travel On - Deceased

It's like King Diamond meets death/thrash. Every single riff (in which I mean Myriads of riffs) flow seamlessly while they Kick your ass. And the whole thing is oddly uplifting. The final song Fright is Beyond perfect. It's Brutal yet melodic at the same time, I can't even understand how this album worked; it's like Satan's Host, but a thousand times better. Every single album by these guys have been amazing; one of the most consistent bands I've ever heard. But this one album takes the throne over the rest. A flawless display of death/thrash with traditional metal influence.

I've listened to it three times today and haven't gotten bored of it.

Honestly, I don't think I need to say anything. Bolt Thrower are fucking amazing. This is their best album to me; mid-paced, atmospheric Death Metal at its best.

I won't say this is my favourite Darkthrone album, because it really isn't (Under a Funeral Moon is), but still, this is a really solid record. Overall i'd say it's fair to say this is a pretty unique take on the Swedish DM style; the overall atmosphere of the record is much different from their peers overall, with a really Cold, sort of wandering feel to the music. It takes a while to absorb (largely because of the song Structures), but i've been spinning it a lot again lately and it stands out a lot. The riffwork on this record is great, and the bass work really is as good as a lot of people say it is. Nocturno Culto's lead guitar work on this record is actually superb, and Fenriz's skillful drumming really shines on this record without overtaking the rest of the music.

Exhumed - All Guts, No Glory

Glad that these guys decided to come outta retirement to release this death/grind album. Nothing Spectacular, but it's Exhumed, pretty much everything they do is great. Really looking forward to seeing these guys play live for a second time this year in October.

Hippie death metal. These guys are singing about nature and that's it. This is some of the greatest composition I have heard in modern tech death. Every member is extremely skilled, but never resort to wankery. It's all technical Insanity with Insane amounts of melodies and harmonies intertwining. The production is perfect as well. The bassist is also the ex-Augury bassist, so expect Insane bass work.

Check this out if you want good modern tech death.

Speakin of modern Technical Death Metal from Canada, just listened to Beyond Creation's debut album The Aura. very similar to Aetheretic with a little more emphasis on Technical guitar solos.
