Also, Anyone living in the UK close enough to leeds. Carcass will be headlining Damnation fest. this year. It is there last ever show. there renuion only lasted one year.

Jeff Walker said "we enjoyed making you sweat... this is gonna be the ONLY UK show this year, and quite possibly your last chance to ever catch us live"

Symphonic melodic heavy power.

Reek Of Putrefaction = Grind

Symphonies of Sickness = Grind Death

from Necroticisme - Descanting the Insalubrious to Heartwork = Death Metal

Never listen to Swansong. Some call it Heavy Metal or Death'n Roll

1991 Brought there best work. there descanting the Insalubrious album. so of the best riffs and beats on that. then they made a melodic album called heartwork.

mike left and they made swansong, which apparently everyone hated it on it's release.

just wanted to know what people favourate generation of Carcass is or was.

like i said, i love it all. ^^

I am a huge Carcass fan but my favorite period / album is Symphonies Of Sickness, I've seen them Live twice in France and once in England.

Best band. Ever.

Biggest influence also on loads of other bands whether in goregrind or in death metal.

They are the best band ever indeed, near enough my hometown where they are from. im only 17 so i never got a chance to see them when i was a child, a friend who is alot older than me had every album, peel session and Live recordings of them and he gave me them. now Carcass has reformed im going to see them for the first and last time (=[) with him. Gonna Rock

i like all the music they made, but my favourate is the goregrind/death metal era.

Only have 1 Carcass Album (Reek of Putrefaction - 1988), so whatever era that was, is my favourite.

this is their very first recording, if you like that one (and so did I) despite the shitty production, you should definitely enjoy their second opus : Symphonies Of Sickness

I promise you won't regret it. Production is far better, tracks just a bit longer and more elaborated and 'atmosphere' is like sipping a beer in the morgue.

However, if you're more into grind, I don't suggest starting with Carcass' late material. you ought to know these guys changed their sound on just about every album even though you could say it's more of a natural progression than turning their backs on their fanbase. And since you onlu have the first lp, why not just start Again with the second one ;)
