Hello to all my fellow metal fans around the world. My name is Andy. I'm
an old school American metalhead from Boston Massachusetts. I'm
currently living in Japan. I'm hoping to make friends with metal fans, musicians and bands throughout the world.

Now, since I'm not getting any younger, while I still have the chance and some of my Mental faculties about me, I've decided to finally record my music, which up until now was music / songs / riffs on old 4-track recordings on dusty cassette tapes.  I have no illusions of becoming a major signed metal ACT or anything (although it would be nice), I just want to share my music with some people that might be interested in it and enjoy it.

If I Ever get a real CD made or official downloads, and maybe if I can sell a copy or Two, I can Treat myself to some instant ramen. I'm recording  my music under the band name Botolph Dissidents.

I've been jamming around Tokyo and hope to get some people together to
play my originals out live sometime soon.

Now that the internet has provided us with ways to share information that weren't available back then, I figured I would use this opportunity to get involved with the online metal community.  I've also started making YouTube videos, labeling my songs with the pickups and equipment used for my fellow guitarists, as there have been several YouTube videos that helped ME when I was considering new pickups and such.

In addition to humbling requesting your audience for my music, I also have a question in regards to genre / classification:

I really have no idea what type of music to label this as. Back in the '80s my friends and I just called it hard / thrash / Speed Metal with death and melodic vocals and "mosh riffs." In the modern metal world, the terms have evolved and there are several sub-genres, and technical terms, but honestly, I don't know where to even begin.  The only thing I have to describe it as is the "Bastard love child of Death and Styx" but that's doesn't really help me when registering for music sites, marketing and such, lol.

So If you would be kind enough to listen and send some suggestions my way for genres, I would most certainly appreciate it.  Since I'm living in Japan, the lyrics are in both English and Japanese, and they center on social issues and being pissed off about various social / life problems. I don't know if that makes a difference in classification, but just figured I'd throw that out there.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to talking to you.

Here are some links if you would be kind enough to listen and lend your thoughts.
