Azylya was founded in 2009 under impulse of songstress JAMIE-LEE SMIT (Ex- Sad Siberia/Skeptical Minds/Aedden) and joined by drummer GAETAN and keyboard player and singer VLAD. Bass guitarist BEN and guitarist ANTHONY joined the ranks quickly, starting to make their musical genre a reality; the angelic vocals of Jamie-lee forming a powerful contrast with Vlads trash vocals, guided by fierce guitar play and melodic keyboard lines.
However, during the work on songs and compositions, both Gaetan and Vlad quit Azylya due to professional reasons.
They are succeeded in turn by Forster on drums, Guillaume on keys, and, combining trash vocals with a second guitarist, in the form of Maxime.

The songs of Azylya are about the darker corners of mankind, as in the shape of the Dangers of Incest, murder, Pain and suffering, whereas the Road to salvation is found to be one of countless hardships. This is underlined by the band's first demo EP, "THANATOS' INSANITY".

With the songs now being remastered to fit the new line-up, the band also gains strength and experience by mounting the stage whenever they can, in order to work on their first full album!
