Black phantoms of misery

Angels choir sing my name
Imploring me to resist, the sun will ever rise again
From this nightmare they ask me to keep the faith

Hypnotised I walk to them

When I got to the gates,
I realize that my feelings chilled and my blood ran cold
Ghosts turned away from me
They’re here to rise in front of me, staring at me
I’m there in the crowd


3. WHEN THE WORLD COLLAPSES

My gaze is lost so far away
Doesn’t even know if it’s still me

The sea recedes, only leaving a dry hugeness behind
A flower remains on the sand I hope it’s a sign, hope it’s a sign

But the flower is wilted it said, it had to go now
All its petals lay around, does she only know she let them fall?

The Earth opened before me, I didn’t move

4. THE PAINTER

I see paintings on my walls
Images of life that fade away
Wooden frames grow old the tints turn to grey
How many paints in the attic
Are locked up in a chest, have I lost the key?
How many lost memories are waiting for me?

I close my eyes, my life strays in the night
With a brush I look for a light

I am a lonely painter
Misunderstood drawer
Tortured soul I paint death
Will I let dust and time cover it all?

Can dust and time blacken my paints?
Not if I find the key
Can dust and time blacken my life?

The key I drew dived into me
Colors and shapes
Came back to life
My works are my soul
Even though I’m blind

I close my eyes, my life is shining bright
I will paint my dreams with a smile

5. EVOLAT

From the forest of doom I’m walking to the light
The clothes of my soul are in rags
I stagger in pain but it was not in vain
Something deeply changed

Inferus, Dedecus, Tenebra, Mendacia
Nascitur, Moritur, Spiritus, Evolat

The light is filtered through the trees
Demons of the night answer hellish calls
“You’ll never get out of here alive, your soul is ours
The crowd shall feed your desires”

As I walk my eyes stare at the sun with no fear no hate and no pain
I’m leaving a world of death and tragedy, what worse could happen?
Suddenly I stop, the end of the road stands before my very eyes
With a smile no one can see I’m turning round for a last good bye

I fall on the ground like a hammer on the dark anvil of the past
My corpse was a chrysalis, the man at last is free to understand
You would swear I’m dead if you had seen me lying peaceful on the ground
But I’m more alive than ever, I conquered fear because I know

We all walked into the Light and we’re still there since the day of our birth (Inferus- Dedecus)
We all left a body behind us to live by ourselves on Earth (Tenebra)
Dazzling angel in a last sigh I’m about to spread golden wings (Nascitur – Moritur)
You might say it is the end, but it is just another beginning (Spiritus)


6. SING THE PAIN

No lullaby will ever sing the pain
No sun will dry the tears I shed
Wherever you are, I miss you…

When you leave, what does remain?
Only memories
Glimpses in my dreams
Images of happiness
Many but not enough
How can I explain
With my only words?
A candlelight when I was lost
Warm tenderness when I was cold
Who will comfort me when you’re gone?
Like a pebble in the ebb
The world moves, I’m motionless

From your heaven do you hear
What the hourglass didn’t let me you tell you?

7. BEYOND THEIR LIES

Screams – From the bottomless pit of my feelings
Help – Help me to find my way out
Fingers – Their fingers are cold on my ankles
They – want to bring me back to hell

Let us go out, you can’t fight
Stay in the shadows where your night won’t rise

I want to be alive
No matter how they try to prevent me from reaching the skies
My paradise is beyond their lies

I let the storm behind
I walk through mankind
Alone in the crowd
To a place where I will find again
All those I have loved will wait from me
But don’t hurry
Got a life to live
I got to find life in the crowd, yeah

Pain – Demons inside me try to take control
Worms – and crows are after my soul
I take a deep breath – and dive into the unknown
Pestilence, Arrogance – See me breaking down your walls

The voices lose their warmth and it seems
I’m with them but they are not with me
Something is changing
As if my eyes could see through them now
Their shadows increase while the sun goes down
For them, not for me

I’m standing high and proud

You fool yourself and you lost
