Since old times our blood drenched the soil
Flesh & bone, broken & torn
Teeth cracked & shattered
Steel forged blades in the dark
Dusk holds the flame, a key to the dawn
Oldest streams flow forever cleansing the skulls of the dead

Gazing across the land, fire rages in the wolf's eyes

...A thousand broken wands & the wind will claim this flesh again
Lakes of blood rush into the sea
Torrents of venom in the chaos
Upon the rocks the foe's body lies
Into the sea they are thrown
Upon these cliffs my blood will boil as flesh, as the flesh, as my flesh is torn away

Sand & dust gathers on old pathways
Untrodden paths shall mark the way
All in legend and tossed into the sea


2. DEVOUR

Gape wide my jaws and She will not escape again.
Her horses flag with the weight of pursuit,
Wan-skinned and faltering hooves
Distressed by the salt of greying clouds.
They burst and lash against the wheels of Her chariot.

Arvak, Alsvid, worry not for the swiftness of your deaths.
I have given chase for a thousand years
Back and forth across this skull of Ymir,
And shall I ravage your necks and swallow
Every flaming stalk of your manes.

You shall suffocate in the warmth of my guts.

The barren valleys of day are wrecked with dreams
So ruined by the knowledge of the coming end
That their light wilts like a garden engarland
With weeds: unkempt, uncared and undressed
By cold, sharp teeth of Death.
