8. GREYHAVEN

Nestled in a solitude
High above the city.
This haven is my habitat,
All I need before me.

The wooden floors creak beneath my feet
As I prepare the evening's ordeal.
The autumn leaves and twilight,
The breeze, and the haze fit
To make things seem unreal.
Hearth and burning fire,
The candlelit arched window,
From this view I inspire.
Makes me feel
That tonight,
The night will reveal

I'll stare out the window
For hours and hours
At the glow from the city
And the cars that pass by.
The shapes in the rain,
Many years etched in pain,
Will never
Make me give away
And come
Crashing down
Again.


9. COLD NIGHT BY THE FORTRESS

Rain falling, first drenched in the past.
Soon daylight will be drowned in it's wake.
We stand in the streets of this city,
As the fire of heaven conceals what's within me.
To this end i'll stand alone,
To this end, to forever.
I'll never speak the word of serenity.
The eyes on her face will speak it for me.

Forsaken pasts of darkness, falls to embrace.
On a trembling plain,
With the thoughts of his mother
Shining through the pain.
Awakened now, he starts to see
The beast his father made for him.
