Quartz reformed to play a charity gig at The Asylum in Birmingham on Friday 16th December 2011 with special friends on the bill [B]Cryer[/B] who also Hail from Birmingham and last shared the stage 33 years ago now on 1st December 1979 at Digbeth Civic Hall where the Quartz Live album was recorded. Present was original band members of Mick Hopkins (guitar) Malc Cope (drums) and Dek Arnold (bass). Geoff Nicholls returned to the fold after his lengthy spell as the 5th member of Black Sabbath. David Garner who had a brief spell in the band circa 1981/1982 after Taffy Taylor left did a great job on vocals. There is talk of more shows to come with lots of interest especially from Germany and possibility of a new album release to follow
