Obduktion are a Greek death metal band from Athens, originally founded in 1995 by GeorgeObduktorBitzos. Influenced by bands like Bolt Thrower, Obituary and Deicide started developing their own sound which, through several demo releases and live performances, can be found in the band's debut album Encounter In A Dream, released in 2002 by NMC music.
Through the years, Obduktion gained experience by doing many gigs and supporting bands like Kaamos, Enthroned, Arkhon Infaustus and Handful of Hate. In nowadays and through audience's appreciation, they are a so called cult Hellenic death metal band.
After the band having established a unique music identity based in aggressive riffs, technical solos and brutal attitude and with a strong line-up, they composed brand new death metal songs. At this time, they are ready to release their second full-length album titled II.

Full biography:
Obduktion were created in the summer of 1995. Mostly influenced from
groups like Bolt Thrower, Obituary, Deicide, they are trying to create
and establish their own personal character. With the group have played
from time to time distinguished Greek musicians like Kostas Manopoulos
(Vice Human, Kerno etc.), Aggelos Tsoukalas (Powercrue, etc), Andreas
Sotiropoulos (Everdome) and many others. At this moment the group's
members are:

Obduktion have made 8 official and unofficial musical works, which are:
1) " First blood and the darkness inside" 1996 demo, which was the
first attempt of the group. It was the debut, with a demo that in spite of
the inexperience of its members it has given encouraging messages for
the future.
2) " Near Death Experience" 1998 demo. A second demo during which two
of its members are doing their military service. In the group plays also Giorgos Psarakis, a virtuoso guitarist, and the band receives some
positive reviews.
3) " Silence" 1999 demo. For this demo there were issued only 100
copies and due to some difficulties its further distribution was suspended.
4) " Break The Silence" 2000 promo. The addition to the group of Kostas
Manopoulos had as a result the creation of this promo. With sales over
400 copies, participation in 5 different collections and very good
critiques everything was showing to be leading in its right way.
5) " Day of massacre" 2001 promo. With Aggelos Tsoukalas in the drums
now, this promo is recorded. The completeness of this work and the very
good critiques have led to the signing of the contract with NMC Music.
6) " Encounter In A Dream" 2002 cd. The first official distribution of
our work is now a fact. Nevertheless the many rearrangements inside the
group, the result is dividing. But nobody can deny for this new
successful turning.
7) " The Lost Angel Of Our Soul" 2004 7" EP. This is the band's second official
work. With its new members, the group is preparing the second full length cd
and put out this 7" EP to prepare the audience. This EP was rated by the Greek METAL HAMMER with 8 ½ and was at the number 1 for the month's playlist (November 2004).
8) 11 Years Obduktion Special Promo Edition 2007. A death metal collection with some of the band's highlights. Cult Hellenic death metal according to the greek METAL HAMMER.
Obduktion have given many concerts in Athens and in other areas in Greece and always is being receiving positive comments for its performance.
The group has performed with well-known groups like Enthroned, Kaamos,
Deviser, Obsecration, Memorain, Crossover, Arkhon Infaustus, Handful Of Hate etc.
The long and devoted path of the group until now, but also the insatiable wish of
its members for music, guaranties the continuing of this attempt, and the desirable recognition from its audience.
At this time, Obduktion after composing brand new death metal songs, are ready to release their 2nd full-length album titled II.
