Created of an idea of Adrien (Guitar - Infestation) and Sam (drum - ex-Zubrowska) in 2004, the band is formed August 2005 in Toulouse (31-France) joined by Jeejee (Vocal - Line Of Sight) then Pat (bass – Infestation). 6 months later the band has 11 compos and carries out its 1st concert in May 2006. After a series in concerts Pat leaves the group in June 2006, his substitute names Cymon (Bass - Infestation). October 2006, NOTL enters to the Soltice studio in Toulouse and records 7 tracks, by Baptiste Bouchard (Aeria microcosm), with an aim of promoting itself. Enthusiastic and justified, NOTL composes a new repertory and starts the promotion of their recording for a possible signature (and chronicles).

Although the influences are varied, the common idea of the members is to practise simple and effective grindcore, in the vein of old-school bands (Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, Terrorizer) but also of more modern formations (Nasum, Misery Index, Rotten Sound). The name of the band comes from a title of Death Napalm on the album "enemy of the music business".
