Megadeth's debut album sure was a hard thrash kick in the face. After being fired from metallica he was set out to out metal them. So in 1985 on combat records Killing is my business and business is good was released. The first track Last Rites/Loved to Death shows Mustaine's singing voice and his now famous thrash growl defying James hetfield's growl and matching it!! this song is about a man who kills his crush. Any way the song contains great guitar solos by Mustaine to be exact this is true for all the songs for this album.
The second track killing is my business and business is a fast guitar play with Mustaine, Ellefson, and at that time Poland each playing at fast speeds which with Mustaine's vocals gave a sense of unison and again this is also for the other tracks in the album as well. This song is about a paid sniper assassin.
Third the skull beneath the skin is a song about Megadeth's mascot Vic Rattlehead it explains the way Vic is constructed because, Vic comes from victim referring to the surgeries it had to go through to make it the no evil Icon, and Rattlehead because when dave was younger his mom told him not to headbang because he would rattle something inside his head. Vic is the Icon of no evil as he hears no evil, sees no evil and, speaks no evil thanks to the steel visor, metal caps on his ears and the iron staples that hold his mouth shut as seen on the album cover. Of course this song is also good to head and listen to... Fourth is Rattlead this song starts of with fast guitar playing and it keeps that way till the end of the song (thank Poland because Dave had to focus on vocals) this song describes a Megadeth concert banging your head and seeing Vic Rattle head!!!!

Chosen ones and looking down at the cross are both religious tied songs first chosen ones is about crusaders that go fight Muslims the enemy but they turn out to be monsters this song contains great solos by both Mustaine and Ellefson. In looking down at the cross the song is about Chirst who Mustaine considered to be mad at the time of crucifixion it also contains the typical solos and riffs that make Megadeth.
Mechanix is a song about a horny mechanic it was originally released in the no life till leather demo from Metallica with Hetfield singing it. In this album Mechanix is played faster than the four horsemen from Metallica it simply is solid thrash and one of Mustaines best songs both in guitar playing and vocaly. The last song these boots is a parody of the Nancy Sinatra song "these boots are made for walking" well its hilarious and it kills Sinatra's version. Megadeth was one of the bands who spearheaded thrash metal in the 1980s. They were considered part of the Thrash Four, along with fellow Bay Area acts Metallica, Slayer. When listening to the album, one can immediately tell why. It has everything that you should expect from thrash metal; fast riffs and expertly done solos (courtesy of Dave Mustaine and Chris Poland), heavy bass, drumming that will force you to headbang at will, and snarling vocals.

In the past, the album has been criticized for it's bad quality production. While this is true, this is in no means a reason to call the album inadequate. It is one of Megadeth's best albums (only competing with Peace Sells and So Far So Good... So What!, although Friedman purists would disagree...) by far and although it's quality is crap (and ear-hurting at times), it shouldn't stop a true Megadeth fan from enjoying this gem of thrash metal.

The album starts off with a piano piece performed by Mustaine, and quickly morphes in to a heavy thrasher titled Loved to Deth and features a solo by Dave Mustaine. The title track fades in with feedback and showcases the band's riffs and overall talent, and ends with a solo by Poland. The last song on the album is Mechanix, a song written by Dave Mustaine when he was in his first band and later brought it to Metallica (who he played with before Kirk Hammett joined), who played it on their demo No Life 'Til Leather and later slowed the pace and added a melodic passage in the middle to make the song The Four Horsemen which was featured on their debut.

This album, although not a fan favourite like RIP or Peace Sells, it is still, in my opinion, a great thrash metal album which helped influence alot of metal acts that came after Megadeth.
