A $3m+ youth facility, YMCA HQ (fondly known to locals as "HQ") is a skate park, art gallery house and gig centre for local bands (metal bands. REAL metal bands.) "The facility had its formal opening on 23rd February 2002 as the result of more than five years work by the key partners – the Rotary Club of Heirisson, the Town of Vincent, LotteryWest and the Skateboarding Association of WA (SKAWA) and comprehensive consultation with over 600 young people regarding their views, expectations and needs in relation to youth facilities." - hq.org.au This is an awesome place for the underage crowd as it is an AA venue, no alcohol for the overage crowd unfortunately, and all the local and national bands make HQ either their weekly gig spot or their first stop on the tour.
