Genre smashing avant experimentalists, OvO, continue to woo the masses with their mammoth Abisso full-length. Issued via Supernatural Cat, Abisso finds the curious noise duo of Stefania Pedretti and Bruno Dorella taking their Unorthodox compositions to entirely new dark, rhythmic, and often suffocating realms.

OVO
Where Cor Cordium and previous offering, CroceVia, were veritable points-of-no-return for their minimal rock Structures with Dorella's half drum set and Pedretti's guitar and penetrating vocal gymnastics swirling into a detached otherworldly kingdom of curiosity, Abisso travels Far Beyond those confines, using contemporary music tools to maintain their unparalleled creativity and Eternal evolution. Samples, drum machines, pads, field recordings and synths Converge into a harrowingly alluring sound that haunts the ears with Ancestral urgency. With the help of Giulio "Ragno" Favero at the mixing desk, Giovanni Versari's mastering, and the friendly collaboration of Gnaw's Alan Dubin (OLD and Khanate) and Carla Bozulich with her full band, Evangelista, OvO have traversed into new territories of Extreme and adventurous listeners are taking notice.

Ringmaster Review dubbed Abisso, "an outstanding Violation," in a 9/10 furthering that, "OvO...provide emotional and Mental infringements which work like aural manna." Last Rites recognizes the manifestations of, "two disconnected people peering in on a humankind with which they've LOST touch. And considering the mechanical recording Process that committed this to whatever format your mind selects to absorb it, it's a pretty organic and fluid experience." While The Skinny commends Pedretti's, "idiosyncratic vocals...whimpering, growling, gibbering and screaming, her range stops their simple setup from growing repetitious, though also earns the album its 'approach with caution' epithet."

Today, Pitchfork is also taking notice with a Stream of "Fly Little Demon" featuring Carla Bozulich's Evangelista. An eight-minute celestial excursion through worlds unknown, the tune echoes, disturbs and soothes with its hypnotic rhythm builds and swirling tides of demonic vocal possession.

Notes Pitchfork: "Still, without pounding drums and even with the amplifiers turned uncharacteristically Down, 'Fly Little Demon' is the most daunting track here, a terrifying slither through demonic rites. Carla Bozulich takes the spotlight, with her band Evangelista assisting OvO with swelling drones pinpricked by dissonant shards of guitar and keyboard. Suggesting Emmylou Harris giving into The Darkness, Bozulich presides over the slowly gathering din. She contorts her Voice into last gasps and chilling howls, a high Priestess presiding over this strange record's least dense but somehow heaviest moment."
