Biografia : Lyr Drowning

Lyr Drowning is a French metal band, formed in 2002 by Goulven Jeffroy, who initiated the basis of the first tunes, and who was then joined by Emmanuel Rousseau, the actual keyboard player. Both influenced by much diversified bands such as Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, or Anathema, their project was quickly defined. Their goal was to create dark and majestic songs, alternating aggressive rhythms and atmospheric or acoustic passages.

In 2004, they produced an MCD on their own, "Orchestral March". This first creation gained excellent comments from specialized webzines, which gave Lyr Drowning the occasion to appear on several samplers, such as the "Pavillon 666 - Révelation Underground 1" compilation, and Rock Hard n° 60 (monthly demo). Meanwhile, the line up was completed, which enables them to give their first gigs : about 10 shows in 2006.

Still in 2006, Lyr Drowning began to work on their first album entitled "Blind From Birth". They chose self-production again, which provided them more freedom without any constraints of time. But this production was much more important and the two musicians spent nine months initiating the creation of the new opus; richer and more mature it mixes Death, Progressive, Doom and Heavy, still following a defined guideline.

With a new album and a stable line up, Lyr Drowning is back on stage.
