4. CONFIDENCE

Darkness, in its most soothing form
Darkness called forth by a candle

that makes the faintest glow visible
Darkness I can handle

I sit and watch the time
While I listen to the air
And music in my mind

Someone sings
in a language without words
Paintings in silent sound
Someone speaks…
was it your voice I heard
You lift me off the ground

Floating through the room
And deep into the soul of the house
Where all the smiles and all the tears
find peace
And come together in our vows

All in all I am alone
But I'm in our home
And that is darkness in its most soothing form

To be seen by admiring eyes

At the people under the glory

7. GATHERING DAY

(Chapter XI of “The fated line”)
January '85, prepared for just another day
Early morning, full moon high
and dancing northern lights

I was walking in the cold
Parking lot outside my home
Then suddenly something didn't feel right
I was not alone

Like reading for the first time
something I have read before

as I met the eyes of an elder man

8. MEMORY BENEATH THE SEA

A long time ago, a messenger came
Sailing into the shore
Of our island

He said, you’re sinking soon
But I’ll lend you a hand
And help you move
From your island

You have to see
This place is gonna be
Only a memory
Beneath the sea

But you can come with me…

So we took all we could carry
And went aboard the ships
Downcast eyes, and troubled minds
And trembling lips

As the distance grew, with sailing away
from our abandoned home
It sank into the sea, like a dread preview
Of what was to come

What had been the world to me

Now I sit here and wonder
But her face is hard to read
What would be if we stayed, back then
Would we drown, or would we breathe

These unfamiliar surroundings
