1. (MOTOR) WAY OF LIFE

Tank full,
Open road,
Sat Nav programmed,
Let's go!
Speakers scream,
Siamese Dream,
The conversation flows.

And we are miles away
From the place where we're playing,
We won't abide by the law,
We are lads on tour.

Poor diet,
No sleep,
Queue at the merch - ten deep.
Really tired, grubby guys making memories to keep.

And we are miles away
From the place where we're playing,
We won't abide by the law,
We are lads on tour.

And we're going to play the roof off of the venue,
And I'm going to sing until my lungs collapse,
There's nothing more that I want when in this moment,
This is my calling so I'll answer it.

And we are miles away
From the place where we're playing,
We won't abide by the law,
We are lads on tour.

2. BEECH LIKE THE TREE

I appreciate your help to date,
Although I'm grateful, I'm jealous of you.

And I wish upon a shooting star,
That I might end up where you are,
Will you wish too?
Two wishes are better than one, dude!

Green with envy,
But thanking you profusely.
You've been great,
Got everything on a plate!

And I wish upon a shooting star,
That I might end up where you are,
Will you wish too?
Two wishes are better than one, dude!

And I wish upon a shooting star,
That I might end up where you are,
Will you wish too?
Two wishes are better than one, dude!

3. HIGH AT FIVE

On the way home,
I'm over thinking thoughts being thought again.
Trending topics are romance, finance and friends.

I'm not scared enough
(I'm not scared enough)
By the world outside.
I'm growing up, it sucks
But that's just life.

Heartbreaks, mistakes I've made,
I'm learning new things every day.

It's too much
When there's not enough
In the glass that appears to be half full
But I can't fill it up.

It's too much (too much)
Not enough
In the glass that appears to be half full
But I can't fill it up.

I'm kind of tired and that's probably the reason why
My brain is thinking me out of my mind.

And I've worried a lot about where I'll be.
Ten years from now I hope I'll be happy.

But right now it's...

Too much
When there's not enough
In the glass that appears to be half full
But I can't fill it up.

Too much (too much)
Not enough
In the glass that appears to be half full
But I can't fill it up.

It's too much
When there's not enough.
In the glass that appears to be half full
But I can't fill it up.

Too much (too much)
Not enough
In the glass that appears to be half full
But I can't fill it up.

4. UNI 9MM

In three years, they'll all have careers,
And I can't deny my contempt.
For all the people that I know,
Who've all found somewhere else to go,
A place of education that seems, the overtaking me

But am I wasting all this precious time,
Feeling alive whilst postponing my life?
I know I'm wasted most of the time
I only care about one thing and that's giggin' life.

I don't want anything to do with you,
Non-descripts and your first choice straight out of school.

This feeling is so strong,
Not sure where I belong
In the grand scheme of things.
And all my friends, they couldn't stay,
Packed up and moved away
Although that friendship I've outgrown,
I'm still alone.

But am I wasting all this precious time,
Feeling alive whilst postponing my life?
I know I'm wasted most of the time
I only care about one thing and that's giggin' life.

I don't want anything to do with you,
Non-descripts and your first choice straight out of school.

But am I wasting all this precious time,
Feeling alive whilst postponing my life?
I know I'm wasted most of the time
I only care about one thing and that's giggin' life.

I don't want anything to do with you,
Non-descripts and your first choice straight out of school.

5. ANOTHER SAD SONG

Flashback to 1999,
It's the summer,
Not a cloud in the sky.
Present day,
Things have changed,
Summer's over
And it rains here every day.

Don't cry,
We all make mistakes from time to time.
Unfortunately, for me,
Being me was mine.

Don't cry,
We all make mistakes from time to time.
Unfortunately, for me,
Being me was mine.

But how so?
I'm only 21 years old.
I used to be so happy,
Now here's another sad song by a sad boy
Playing the saddest chords he knows.

Don't cry,
We all make mistakes from time to time.
Unfortunately, for me,
Being me was mine.

Don't cry,
We all make mistakes from time to time.
Unfortunately, for me,
Being me was mine.

Don't cry,
We all make mistakes from time to time.
Unfortunately, for me,
Being me was mine.

Don't cry,
We all make mistakes from time to time.
Unfortunately, for me,
Being me was mine.

6. MARILYN'S MANSION

I'm going where nobody knows,
To a place far away from my worries and my woes,
Escape for a day in the trees, I can play
In a house made of sticks, on a branch in the shade.

Frisbees, kites galore
Cover the roof from summers before,
Up high, near the sky,
I can laugh, I can dance, if you fall, you will die.

This is my treehouse! No girls allowed!
I just hope to hell the wind don't blow me down.
This is a fort of sorts,
I made it myself from odds and sods.

Camouflaged by twigs and leaves,
My secret den you cannot see.
From up above you look like ants,
While I eat sweets and make commands.

This is my treehouse! No girls allowed!
I just hope to hell the wind don't blow me down.
This is my treehouse! No girls allowed!
I just hope to hell the wind don't blow me down.

7. DEADLIEST CATCH

Ahoy there! All aboard!
This relationship is leaving shore.
Anchors aweigh as I set sail,
Through choppy seas, rain storms and gales.

The sun is rising on the horizon,
As I climb the mast, my heart's capsizing
From the crow's nest, where the view is best
I can see she's swimming miles from where I'm casting nets.

I know, I know they say there's plenty more fish in the sea
But that girl was the best catch in 50,000 leagues.

I know, I know they say there's plenty more fish in the sea
But that girl was the best catch in 50,000 leagues.
She's the one that got away!

Electric eels couldn't express what I feel
This vessel, she sunk 'cause I was drunk at the wheel
From port to starboard, man the lifeboats
She was taking in water, couldn't keep her afloat.

Apparently no man's an island,
But I'm deserted and hurting, I'm suffering in silence
We rocked the boat when we skull and cross boned.
Should have listened to my first mate, now I'm all alone.

I know, I know they say there's plenty more fish in the sea
But that girl was the best catch in 50,000 leagues.

I know, I know they say there's plenty more fish in the sea
But that girl was the best catch in 50,000 leagues.
She's the one that got away!

I know, I know they say there's plenty more fish in the sea
But that girl was the best catch in 50,000 leagues.

I know, I know they say there's plenty more fish in the sea
But that girl was the best catch in 50,000 leagues.
She's the one that got away!

8. BUG

In the back of the van after a show,
when we know we shouldn't be there at all.
Friends are calling you and your boyfriend's waiting for you at home.

We must have a deathwish, can you remember what I said,
So the lights are off and we're alone again.
I'm not a boy that you'll forget, I'll make sure of it,
Right now I think I'm better off alone without you.

Here's the thing, when I'm home you're off on tour,
lord knows that I'd like to see you more,
But flights aren't cheap so a girlfriend in a US band I just can't afford.

I’m not sure if I’d like to hug, kiss or fight you.
Being lead on was such a turn off.

We must have a deathwish, can you remember what I said,
So the lights are off and we're alone again.
I'm not a boy that you'll forget, I'll make sure of it,
Right now I think I'm better off alone without you.

9. UP IN SMOKE

If I tried I just might be able to cut down a few a day,
With every stick I light there's a price to pay.
I'll easily smoke two packs,
And maybe more if I'm bored or just to feel relaxed.

I'm never gonna pack it in, I know I'm addicted to the nicotine,
Through my veins it flows, I'm young but my lungs are old.
I'm never ever gonna shift this vice, had emphysema once or twice,
I've tried so many times.

When I scream and I shout the sound just won't come out across the bar,
I cough, I splutter, chest made of tar.
My fingers are sunset red,
If I carry on this behavior, in ten years I'll be dead.

I'm never gonna pack it in, I know I'm addicted to the nicotine,
Through my veins it flows, I'm young but my lungs are old.
I'm never ever gonna shift this vice, had emphysema once or twice,
I've tried too many times.

Breathe in, breathe out.
Breathe in, breathe out.

10. COULD YOU? WOULD YOU?

You say you love her, but you don't love her,
She's another scrubber.

You are miserable, and I'm sure it's not my place,
But your new girlfriend's not to my taste.

Would you tell her there's no other,
Introduce her to your mother,
Could you trust her with your pin number,
If you can't then don't say so.

Woah! Woah! Woah! Woah!

She ain't bothered,
Sleazy lover under the covers.

You are miserable, and I'm sure it's not my place,
But your new girlfriend's not to my taste.

Would you tell her there's no other,
Introduce her to your mother,
Could you trust her with your pin number,
If you can't then don't say so.

Woah! Woah! Woah! Woah!

Would you tell her there's no other,
Introduce her to your mother,
Could you trust her with your pin number,
If you can't then don't say so.

11. WORKING FOR THE MAN BY DAY, STICKING IT TO THE MAN BY NIGHT

I'm working this day job all week long,
With the nine to fivers where I don't belong.
It's a means to an end and it's not permanent,
When the night comes I start my shift in entertainment.

The clock strikes five and there's no doubt,
That the working day is over and I want out.
Minimum wage is a maximum pain,
But it often typically comes with the trade.

Laboring is a drag but gives me the skills,
To tour in the van but to still pay my bills.
If you graft through the valley of the shadow of shit,
You'll be amazed what you can get if you work hard for it.

I've been working this day job,
With the nine to fivers where I don't belong.
One thing I know is that the bottom of the ocean ain't too low,
To start a punk rock revolution in this disco.

And I'll say, hey hey,
Weekday, you're in my way, move.

If my story sounds similar to yours in any way,
Working for the man as a slave to low pay.
Just know you're not alone in the way that you feel,
And your expression is yours and that no-one can steal.

If you're struggling to get by, to make ends meet.
Feeling unimportant or obsolete,
Just remember the message in the words in this song,
Hum the melody in your head or sing along.

I've been working this day job,
With the nine to fivers where I don't belong.
One thing I know is that the bottom of the ocean ain't too low,
To start a punk rock revolution in this disco.

And I'll say, hey hey,
Weekday, you're in my way.

12. R.O.I.

Guinness in hand, shamrocks in his eyes,
His pride, his heritage this Irish boy cannot hide.
Heart beats to the rhythm of the strumming of a paddy's banjo,
His blood runs three colors: green, white and gold.

At night these cobbled streets I roam.
This sovereign state is home.

I know that I'll be visiting some day,
I'll stay with my mum's aunt and uncle up Wexford way.
Getting merry on the ferry, the Irish Sea I'll cross,
I'd travel miles to crawl the pubs and bars of New Ross.

At night these cobbled streets I roam.
This sovereign state is home.

I'll hire a car and drive down to Hook Head,
Maybe train it to Tramore or limp to Loftushall instead.
Or write a song about the money and all the time I've spent,
A song about a boy of Irish descent.

At night these cobbled streets I roam. at night these cobbled streets I roam.
This sovereign state is home, this sovereign state is home.
At night these cobbled streets I roam. at night these cobbled streets I roam.
This sovereign state is home, this sovereign state is home.

At night these cobbled streets I roam. at night these cobbled streets I roam.
This sovereign state is home, this sovereign state is home.
At night these cobbled streets I roam. at night these cobbled streets I roam.
This sovereign state is home, this sovereign state is home.

At night these cobbled streets I roam. at night these cobbled streets I roam.
This sovereign state is home.

13. LIVE BY THE REMOTE, DIE BY THE REMOTE (BONUS TRACK)

On this week's episode, I'm influenced by a fictional character on a show.
As I sit on my sofa with a pen and paper, I listen carefully and take notes.
I write down lines that cringy guys say to get the girls and they never decline.
Scanning the TV guide with my screen rights and check the showtime more, that's why.

Seen it loads on TV shows, worked for Ross on Friends,
I thought I'd give it a go, said I love you and I always did.
But it didn't work for me on the other side of the screen,
So I guess I'll change the channel on this cheesy romance scene.

Now I can't sleep til it airs next week, not even season five can cheer up this iron keep.
I'm flicking through channels just to kill some hours til Doctor Who.
Maybe you'll have some advice I can use, some anecdotes to keep me amused.
I think that Friends is on at ten, I could watch Joey this time and try it again.

Seen it loads on TV shows, worked for Ross on Friends,
I thought I'd give it a go, said I love you and I always did.
But it didn't work for me on the other side of the screen,
So I guess I'll change the channel on this cheesy romance scene.

14. BESIDE MYSELF (BONUS TRACK)

I'm not disappointed for the first time in my life.
We got these songs recorded just in time,
I sight with relief as I write these lines.

When I listen back,
To these three tracks,
I hear the snare crack,
And the guitars attack through the stacks,
How did we manage to write and record these tunes?

When I listen back,
To these three tracks,
I hear the snare crack,
And the guitars attack through the stacks,
Thank god we got it done, these should have been on the album.

Three days and nights in one room, sleeping and eating where we play.
In a studio near the middle of nowhere miles away
Turn it up we've got riffs to slay.

Four friends three songs and two days sounded so easy to me.
In theory yes but they had to be,
The best song they could possibly be,
We've only gone and done it haven't we.

When I listen back,
To these three tracks,
I hear the snare crack,
And the guitars attack through the stacks,
How did we manage to write and record these tunes?

When I listen back,
To these three tracks,
I hear the snare crack,
And the guitars attack through the stacks,
Thank god we got it done, these should have been on the album.

15. GROUNDED (BONUS TRACK)

My friends brother
Is almost seventeen
And can't be trusted with his own set of house keys
Because he keeps losing them
Went out with friends wakes his mum up knocking on the door at 3am
He says

I need a key
Believe in me
I'm mature
I'll lock the door
If you can trust me more
I might get locked out

He stole his mums set out of her jacket
Biked it into town to get a key cut
But he lost them
Grounded for 3 months
He's got some growing up to do if you ask me
Dad wants to kick him out asap
(He disagrees)

I need a key
Believe in me
I'm mature now

I need a key
Believe in me
I'm mature now
I'll lock the door
If you can trust me more
I might get locked out
