Hardline Therapy vol. 2

the Friday 05 June 2009, Brněnec u Letovic

Hardline Therapy was supposed to be one of the most successful events of this summer in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, everything seemed to conspire against
organizers. Instead of two or three thousand people came hardly tenth of them
even though the area was big enough to handle a big concert with many fans.

Because of the circumstances which probably discouraged most of the fans that didn’t come (like place, date and weather) I managed to go there only for one day.

Whole program was changed over so that could be a little confusing for the people who didn’t know some of the bands. Luckily every band playing there that night - Pathology Stench, Godhate, Hyperion, Hate, X-Core, Hollenthon - was
too remarkable to confound.

The headliners of the evening, Hollenthon, made a great job. Classically starting with On the Wings of a Dove they managed to switch on a not very numerous public in a few minutes. What really played into their hands was a facility of two stages thus
they couldn’t repeat a “failure” from Brutal Assault 2008 where they because of
long sounding played only twenty minutes. Their set list pleased everyone –
they played songs from all of their albums and naturally Son of Perdition wasn’t
missing. In the final, fans couldn’t be more contented.

The evening passed in a spirit of ease and occasional boredom but some of things that gave organizers a hard time could surprisingly please the fans. No fights to get a better place, no rows for beer and the opportunity to have a chat with the musicians who had to problem to come wrom the backstage and join the fans.

So was it a big gig? Not really. But that is not to say that it was a disappointment!

The main stars of Friday night had made a good impression at Ragnarök's Aaskereia
in autumn so it is no surprise that they were very anticipated. I would
lie if I said that they failed. Even though the disillusion because of
a small attendance was vivid and the leader voice was almost inaudible
in some moments, the general impression was very good and personally it
made me want to see them once again.
