1) If I have right, Trendkill is the mix between Eternal Lies and By night members. Can you tell me the story the band?


Yeah itīs a mix from those 2 bands,but Aggressive serpent started out before those 2 bands so this band was never a sideproject.

We started this band in 98 and under the name Aggressive Serpent.
It was me and Erik and marcus and we are still in the band, so itīs not a big difference from today more than that
we nowadays have the best drumme around in Conny who also played in Eternal lies (not playing anymore) and Anata.
We also took Andre from By night more as a "liveguitarrist" so we can keep thoose two bands when itīs comes to the musical
direction and I think itīs 2 different bands and styles.
With Conny as the new drummer we recorded 2 new demos and get signed with Regain records,one of the bigest Swedish labels so
it was amazing for us.



2) So can you describe your music style: Thrash, hardcore……?


we got some reviews already and some of them call us metalcore and I really hate this fucking word.
And itīs hard to explain the difference because we are a combination between metal-trash and a little bit hardcore from the
vocals and the attitude in the music but I honestly donīt think that we are a metalcore band.
Itīs too technical I think, the metalcore is easier and more with this cleanvocals on the chorus and we donīt play simple
and we will never have clean vocals.
But itīs always the same when you got the reviews,they try to put you in a category,and sometimes they say that we
are metalcore and sometimes they say that we sounds like Meshuggah so after a while you donīt care wich name they are
trying to put on your band.


3) Why don't you keep "Aggressive Serpent" as band name?
Ohh... it was a long time ago we took that name, almost 8 years ago so, we fellt it would be time to change the name.
And we had some big shows right infront of us so it was a good time to change so we could play infront of a big crowd
and let them know it directly.


4) What can you tell me about your first full length "No Longer buried"?
Iīm very proud of it, we worked so hard for a long time to make this happend and now suddenly Iīm sitting here
and listen to it. Itīs kind of weird for me.
But I love the way itīs sounds cuz itīs not so overproduced that so many bands have today, we tried to find the right
balance so it would not be so far from how we sounds live.
Bands today record in pro tools and when you go to see them live itīs almost hard to understand that it is the same
band infront of you.
It nnot so hard to be perfect in the studio nowadays with protools and all of those program.
so I think our record is more honest for the fans than many of the records out there (not all of them of course)


5) What's your influences?
if you ask me about the musical influences itīs bands like Old sepultura ,machin head.,pissing razors and pantera, to many
to write hear cuz there is at least 50 bands who has influenced us.

And when it comes to the lyrics itīs a good idea to read them yourself and get your own idea.
I am inspired from everything arounds me when I write the lyrics,and itīs a good therapy for me so Iīm always writing stuff.

Even though I donīt use all of them to the lyrics for my bands.
But in a world like this itīs not so hard to find insiration,just buy yourself a newspaper and read about all the shitthat happens ll around the world.

And for me writing is the only way I can communicate with myself.


6) Will you come in France for gigs?


no one would be happier than me to come to france and play, Iīve been there once and I think it was in paris and a place
called Tulle and I really enjoyed it.

7) And very important question, do you know french band?


to be honest with you, no.
But I promise you that right after I send you this interview I will come up with 10 bands:)


8) The classical question for us: What is the spirit of metal for you?


metal for me is to do whatever I want and donīt care about what the magazines think about you.
We will go the way we want to choose.
I wonīt cut my hair in a special way just because of how other bands look.
I wonīt dress in another way or something like that.
I donīt need that cuz I am my own god and that is what is all about.

To be free from others thoughts about yourself. Thatīs what metal is all about even though itīs
hard to believe when you read the magazines today and look at all of those bands who just look the same to me.
The same stupid haircut and the same tattoos and clothes, itīs like they are taken from a boyband like backstreet boys or something,pathetic.
Buy yourself an identity for christ sake.


9) What can hope for you in the futur?


We will work very hard to make new songs so we can go in to the studio late next year and record a new album
so the fans donīt have to wait.
and we will play every show we possible can so we can promote the album.
