ok hmmmm?
The top one is definately post-hardcore but c'mon, post-hardcore bands are not all sludgy/ambient bands.
The Bottom one, I'm not sure. Ive never heard of that band, but they seem like an experimental Hardcore band or something. Screamo, I think is a little more like this.
It sounds a lot like your "typical" straight up post-hardcore band but, they express a little more emotion. The most obvious part would have to be the vocals.
BTW: and people wonder why newbies don't want to stick around for very long. C'mon guys, this is school yard stuff
Hey, are you an archaeologist?

People don't want to stick around here for long because all the threads consist of either a) done-to-death discussions or b) questions that anybody with a relative knowledge of the genre/band in question could solve with a little bit of legwork or just a bit of common sense.
This thread is mainly b).
If you are a false, don't entry, or you'll be burned and died!

None of the above, I'm just going for what Ive seen here. ok ehm... I think that the new people who have different opinions or tastes as what people have here (no doubt that everyone here at the moment has very similar tastes and opinions towards metal.) are USUALLY the ones that tend to not stay long. What just happened is a classic example of this.
also considering what genre a band is AT TIMES is opinion so its not as simple as just "common sense" especially when you are dealing with similar genres, sometimes you need to compare what you think with others and see if you agree or disagree.
BTW yes there are a huge amount of done/dead threads on this forum, especially threads like "Will Mayhem Ever Release A New Album". But it isn't an excuse to lock or delete them.

If that is your opinion, okay. But why do you stay here for o long if this forum bores you?

post-hardcore, screamo, and "emo metal" (GOD i Hate that term) aren't similar in the slightest. Yeah, there's a bit of overlap in the genres, but there's a helluva lot of overlap in black and Death Metal too and I can tell the difference from those no problem. A little bit of research and active listening to the genres on your part would eliminate any confusion you had, which would in turn eliminate the need for this thread.

Perhaps I am under the assumption that I can change things. Perhaps participating in worn-out discussions is better than sitting around with my thumb(s) up my ass. Perhaps you should stop boring me so much.

Then , there would be no need for conversation . People like to talk about their music and hear others' opinions . Thats the purpose of the forum and its open for all .

Panzer has a half point . The purpose of the forum isnt to entertain anyone in particular . I am pretty sure there are more entertaining things to do . Not to mention you point out the forum as a Dying community , something indicating people not doing their jobs correctly .
