The Faceless Sea Reviews:
THE OBELISK
"Even in the  breaks one might call respite if there was actually any letup in the density of the atmosphere – even their air is heavy – War Iron remain consistent in the dreary lumbering of these Two songs."
"The Faceless Sea is unrelentingly heavy and adds War Iron to the list of effective dealers of new school doom and Sludge aural punishment."

LOUD STUFF
"This is raw heaviness, slow metal with a sludgy tone and heavy vocals, so this isn’t for you softer fans out there. What you’ve got here though is a band who are able to Craft tracks of over 20 minutes, tracks which pull you in and take you along for the ride, leaving you in a Cold sweat as they come to a close. I want to hear more for sure, I just need to prepare myself fully for it!"

HEAVY PETAL
"hits with the ferocity of a tropical storm and washes over you with the subtlety of a tsunami.."

DOOMMANTIA (9/10)
"The tracks are dominated by obsessive hypnotic monotonous buzzy bass vibraton and peculiar "filthy" chanting"

LORDS OF METAL (78/100)
"The kind of sludge War Iron plays is nothing like the sludge light band such as Kylesa and Mastodon produce but is the sort that wants to show us the filth of the world and cuts right through you. Apocalyptic visions, nightmares, total downfall of the world is what is conjured up here. No music for weak souls and especially not for people who love ‘pretty’ songs with a head, tail and chorus."

WHEN PLANETS COLLIDE
"......it is definitely not Fast and furious but does leave you feeling very dirty and quite frankly miserable and alone! LOVE IT!"

MOLTEN MAGAZINE - live review
"Few bands are as heavy as War Iron live..... Not even half way through the first song I found myself having to move further from the stage due to the sheer amount of low end....."
