Ok, I'm a complete, guitar NOVICE, but I really want to be in a band and play well, so I was wandering if anyone could reccomend some easy songs for me to learn and any tips in general, plus, is it best to use tabs or chords?

hey crimsom, i play guitar too... i can reccomed you to buy/download the Guitar Pro software; it is reaaaal nice, you can se the tabs (which in my opinion are the only way to learn to play metal),can hear the midis or the RSE tracks and know exactly how you are supposed to sound like... easy songs...??? try Metallica, For Whom the Bell tolls is a real easy one, that was actually one the first songs i learned to play...oooh and you can visit the ultimateguitar.com , there you can find a lot of information and tabs... play it loud!

i actually started with that song

It's a good riff to learn, i started on comfortably numb by pink floyd. now im learning nightwish's nemo and my next to learn is MJ's beat it.

I learn nightwish. its easy to do so why not. life once, life shit. besides Nightwish sucks now because Tarja left. not like you probaly care xD
