1 How old are you? How long have you been listening to Death Metal and which DM bands did you listen to first?

A: I'm 26 years old, I've honestly been listening to DM for almost 10 Years now, but didn't really get deeply into it until 2003. Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus and Internal Bleeding were the first actual DM bands I got into when I was getting into it. I still remember the first song I liked, and it was "Pounded into Dust" by CC, because I loved the intensity of the music and it was energetic to me when I was having a pissed off day my sophmore days in high school, but once a Stress reliever then, now became a fan of the genre and I love every band thats on it! 0

2 How many hours do you spend each day listening to Extreme music? Would you say you're addicted?

A: I'd say Im pretty Addicted, since I like finding different bands to listen to everyday. I have to have atleast a couple songs playing in my Head everyday when Im at work and stuff. I guess I have to say I listen to a good 6 hours a day of my 16 hours of time Im usually awake everyday of different kinds of goregrind, porngrind, Brutal slam death, and old school death. 0

3 Which bands you SAW live were the best?

A: Waco Jesus, Lividity, Incantation, Vital Remains, Anal Cunt, Fecal Corpse, and 5th Dawn.

4 What is your favorite Death Metal album, Black Metal, Thrash Metal and/or Grindcore?

A: Death Metal: "Tomb of the Mutilated" by Cannibal Corpse
Black Metal: "Life?" by Gloomy Grim
Thrash Metal "Voices of Transgression: Best of Comp" by Kreator
Grindcore: "Symphonies of Sickness" by Carcass

5 Though they may not be the best, which records did you most play up till now?

A: "The Grindcore Cookbook Vol. 1" by Holy Co$t
      "Shit" by Cock Splatter Anal
"Assfuck, Cocaine, and Goregrind" by Elite Drug Dealers
"The Dance with Turds" by Goreanus
      "Self Titled" by Twat Appetizer

6 What are the tracks/songs you just can't get enough of?

A: "Fuckhead" by Stahlhammer
"Boiled in Bile" by Holy Co$t
     "Psycho Pudding" by Rectal Smegma
     "Dildo Lobotomy" by Rectal Smegma
"Aphrodisianus" by Cock and Ball Torture

7 How much do you value your CDs (or tapes or LPs) and what do they represent to you?

A: At one time they did, but I have a job that likes to censor my shit, and the only way to enjoy music is by downloading it while deployed, otherwise, my CDs will get taken away due to the covers of some bands I like, its part of General Order #1B and states I cant have violent, pornography, crude acts of mutilation, dismemberment, yadda yadda on pictures with me or else its contraband and is a violation of UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) and my first deployment to Iraq, I didnt know this, and they took my CD collection and pretty much fucked it up, and now I have a bunch of CDs with missing covers and/or CD's gone but have covers with them, things like that nature, so I kind of lost track on my valuable CD collection now. But I do collect vinyls, although I have a small collection, its still a valuable collection to me.

8 Do you listen to less Extreme music or are you without Mercy for any other genres?

A: I like to discover as much metal as possible and try to listen and knowledge myself with more and more bands everyday with what I find or what people tell me thats good to them.
Although goregrind/brutal slam death is my favorite kinds of music, I still like to find different metal genres to listen to whenever I get a chance

9 What is the country that does best represent Death Metal in your opinion? Do you like one period in particular?

A: Russia and Germany have the best goregrind/porngrind in my opinion and just recently, the Phillippines/Japan IMO have the best brutal slam death such as Uteral Regurgity, Loss of Control, Gorevent, etc. thanks to my beloved porngrinder angel, Asmodelica, for introducing the bands to me.

10 Is there some visual content that you find laughable and/or bands you think that really suck eggs?

A: Not many, but I dont really care for Cripple Bastards, Birdflesh, Nasum, I dont know why I feel that way for them though.... Its weird I guess. 0

11 You're a band manager, what would be the Death Metal dreamteam for you: drummer, bass player, guitar player(s) and vocalist.

A: Ugh... This is tough since I'm not good with names of the persons who play the band but I'll do my best I guess.

Drums: Fuck... I'm Dead drum machine
Guitar: the 2 guys that play in Katalepsy (russia)
Bass: The bassist from Gorevent (the bass in the song Bleeding is fucking heavy!)
Vocalist: The dude from Anal Nosorog, I like the pig squeel and snorting sound, hehe

12 Looking back at the previous year (2008), which albums do you think have become cult classics?

A: "Triumph of Evilution" Split w/ Katalepsy (Rus), Fleshrot, and Blunt Force Trauma
      "Abnormal Exaggeration" by Gorevent
"Children of the Porn" by Cemetery Rapist

Thats all I can think of for right now....

13 In your opinion, which 5 Death Metal bands are today's champions (please no ultra underground band, bands that really count in today's Death Metal)?

A: I guess the following bands Ive been listening to for the past 9 years now as my top 3, it'd still have to be:

Cannibal Corpse
Dying Fetus
Deicide
Decrepitaph
Jungle Rot

I had to think this since I don't listen to "pure" Death Metal since I mostly listen to Death/Grind or Goregrind mainly.

14 You've heard of deathcore, do you think it's Death Metal?

A: I dont really care for it, Abacinate and Carnifex are pretty good to me, but Im not really into any other genres that end with "core" other than Grindcore or something, but most of them seem metalcore/screamo to me, as if scenekids would easily get into it and be all over the band. I can't stand scenekids for the fact they think its the "cool" thing to be and do, so I kind of think deathcore isnt Death Metal for this fact, but the bands members influencing Death Metal bands with their band, makes em trying to seem Death Metal. Its hard to explain from my opinion towards the question.

15 Last but not least, here's your chance to pick up the 10 best Death Metal records of all times.

"Tomb of the Mutilated" by Cannibal Corpse
"Legion" by Deicide
"Grotesque Impalement" by Dying Fetus
"Voracious Contempt" by Internal Bleeding
"Master" by Master
"Dead and Buried" by Jungle Rot
"Autophagous Orgy" by Lord Gore
"Hacked Up for Barbeque" by Mortician
"The Age of Clitoral Decay" by Lividity
"In Torment In Hell" by Deicide

My turn!

1
How old are you? How long have you been listening to Death Metal and which DM bands did you listen to first?
1 I'm 34 yo... Freakin old... I've been listening to Death Metal 1987's Scream Bloody Gore. I was into Thrash Metal and it just hit me hard in the face.

2 How many hours do you spend each day listening to Extreme music? Would you say you're addicted?

2 At least 4/5 albums a day... But I listen also to other metal genres.

3 Which bands you SAW live were the best?
3 Campaign for Musical Destruction: Obituary / Napalm Death / Dismember was a fave along with the best gig which was 1991's Eurodeath festival with Disharmonic Orchestra, Pungent Stench, Entombed and Carcass. I loved Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse too.

4 What is your favorite Death Metal album, Black Metal, Thrash Metal and/or Grindcore?
4 I would have a Hard Time picking one Death Metal album but I'd say Napalm Death's Harmony Corruption. Black Metal = Darkthrone's A Blaze in the Northern Sky. Thrash Metal = Sacred Reich's Surf Nicaragua or Slayer's South Of Heaven.

5 Though they may not be the best, which records did you most play up till now?
5 Basically the first records I bought since I did not have many. Scream Bloody Gore, Leprosy, Slowly We Rot, In Battle There Is No Law, etc.

6 What are the tracks/songs you just can't get enough of?

6 Immolations' Those Left Behind, Morbid Angel's Chapel Of Ghouls, Death's Spiritual Healing, Napalm Death's Unfit Earth, etc,

7 How much do you value your CDs (or tapes or LPs) and what do they represent to you?
7 I have lots of them but I don't particularly care about them. They're material stuff on which there is music. There was even a time where I was gibing some away (but not any longer). MenstrualB, man that must have sucked that Army 'confiscation' stuff.

8 Do you listen to less Extreme music or are you without Mercy for any other genres?

8 Yes I do. I love some more pop'ish stuff or old 'rock' my father used to listen to like Dire Straits or Neil Young.

9 What is the country that does best represent Death Metal in your opinion? Do you like one period in particular?

9 Holland maybe. Lots of classic bands there: Pestilence, Acrostichon, Sinister, Gorefest, Asphyx, not even metioning their rich Doom Death scene; 1989-1991 for mots classics of the genre came out from that period but each country and time bring us something

10 Is there some visual content that you find laughable and/or bands you think that really suck eggs?

10 Nope, I can bear most porngrind covers or goregrind covers (but not wifey). I can't stand modern Technical Brutal Death Metal and Melodic too. Sound is too fucking clean. You know what they say? No guts, no glory.

11 You're a band manager, what would be the Death Metal dreamteam for you: drummer, bass player, guitar player(s) and vocalist.

11 Drummer: Mick Harris, bass: Lars Rosenberg, guitar 1: Patrick
Mameli, guitar 2: Trey Azagthoth, vox: Karsten Jager (Disblief) and Sean McGrath.

12 Looking back at the previous year (2008), which albums do you think have become cult classics?

12 Cardiac Arrest - Cadaverous Presence (Epitomite) + Decrepitaph - Condemned Cathedral (Razorback) + Kill The Client - Cleptocracy (Willowtip) + + + + +

13 In your opinion, which 5 Death Metal bands are today's champions (please no ultra underground band, bands that really count in today's Death Metal)?

13 If I want to be objective, I'd write some bands for which I don't care too much but that I can acknowledge have reached the top:
Nile, Behemoth, Suffocation. Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel

14 You've heard of deathcore, do you think it's Death Metal?
14 Deathcore is Deathcore. I have nothing against it or for it. But I start getting suspicious when band's name have more than two words in it .

15 Last but not least, here's your chance to pick up the 10 best Death Metal records of all times.

15 In no particular order and probably a list that'd be different in two weeks:
Pestilence - Consuming Impulse
Engorged - Engorged
Carcass - Symphonies Of Sickness
Morbid Angel - Altars Of Madness
Morgoth - Eternal Fall
Bile - The Shed
Impaled - Mondo Medicale
Impetigo - Horror Of The Zombies
Autopsy - Severed Survival
Fondlecorpse - Creaturegore (I'm totally crazy about that one!!)

Now we're waiting for Master Skinless!!

Sunday 06 September 2009 - 02:11:16

ok ok!!
my turn!

1. How old are you? How long have you been listening to Death Metal and which DM bands did you listen to first?
-I'm 29 years old and to be honest i can't really remember which year i started to listen to Death Metal. This time i listened to many different metal genres so it was a slower process. but it must be around the early 90's.

2. How many hours do you spend each day listening to
Extreme music? Would you say you're addicted?
-Yes, of sure i am! how many hours i spend listen to Extreme music depends on how much time i have. when i'm at home and there is no football in tv i listen to music... and this is always extreme.

3. Which bands you SAW live were the best?
-There are so many bands i´ve already seen and i can't say which one was the best. but some really great gigs were for example Dying Fetus (at DFOA), Cannibal Corpse (at WOA) and Impaled (in a city near here).. but there are many many other really great gigs.

4 What is your favorite Death Metal album, Black Metal, Thrash Metal and/or Grindcore?
-This is a really hard question. cos i never thought about one fav. album.  when i check my cd-collection and i have to pick one DM/Grind album i would say Fleshless - Hate is Born. i really love this album. well... i dont like Black Metal that much so its even harder to choose one. but when i remember many years ago i would say Emperor - In the nightside eclipse. Trash Metal i would say the album that made me listen to harder metal Sepultura - Arise

5. Though they may not be the best, which records did you most play up till now?
-besides the Fleshless - Hate is born there is the Malignant Tumour - In Full Swing and the Blood Duster - Blood Duster which almost burned in my cd-player

6. What song you just can't get enough of?
 -Dying Fetus - Grotesque Impalement

7. How much do you value your CDs (or tapes or LPs) and what do they represent to you?
-i care a lot about my cd collection. i cant stand  it when the cover is damage or the jewel case is broken. they are my hobby and i really care about them. you wont find a scratch on one of my cds.

8. Do you listen to less Extreme music or are you without Mercy for any other genres
-nope. i only listen to extreme music. i did when i was younger but i found my musical genre now.

9. What is the country that does best represent Death Metal in your opinion? Do you like one period in particular?
-i cant say one country. there are great bands all over the world. besides the us bands i really like many bands from the netherlands, italy and greece.

10. Is there some visual content that you find laughable and/or bands you think that really suck eggs?

-if this question still is about the extreme music i would say... i cant stand too noisy grindcore. there should be at least a rythm or a little music recognizable. also i prefer the growls than the screams.

11. You're a band manager, what would be the Death Metal dreamteam for you: drummer, bass player, guitar player(s) and vocalist.
-i dont care so much about names. for me the whole band is important not single musicians.

12. Looking back at the previous year (2008), which albums do you think have become cult classics?
-Fleshless - Hate is Born (again!)

13. In your opinion, which 5 Death Metal bands are today's champions (please no ultra underground band, bands that really count in today's Death Metal)?

-hmm.. i think you can ask me tomorrow and i maybe choose others. i dunno if i understand the question right. these are bands i think are the biggest bands in Death Metal genre.. not my favourite ones.
so i would choose Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, Death, Dismember, Dying Fetus

14. You've heard of deathcore, do you think it's Death Metal?
-as GandhiEgo said Deathcore is Death Core and not Death Metal. i dont like all deathcore but there are many bands that are really good.

15. Last but not least, here's your chance to pick up the 10 best Death Metal records of all times
-well.. also this answer could change day by day. my fav. top 10 change really often. my answer also includes Death Grind and all extreme genres...
in alphabetic order:

Blood Duster - Blood Duster
Blood Freak - Live fast, die young... and leave a flesh-eating corpse!
Criminal Element - Guilty as Charged
Desecration - Process of Decay
Fleshless - Hate is Born
Fondlecorpse - Creaturegore
Guttural Secrete - Reek of Pubescent Despoilment
Horrific - Your worst Nightmare
Inveracity : Extermination Of Millions

Putrid Pile : House of Dementia
Skinless : Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead

yes i can count.. but i dunno which one i should delete of this 11

Death metal is death metal...when you allow a few whimpy, girly looking kids play music that sounds masculine, it make the music sounds like a girl

1 How old are you? How long have you been listening to Death Metal and which DM bands did you listen to first?
I am 16 years old, I’ve been listening to Death Metal for only 2 years or so I’m still a Death Metal n00b. I know this might Insult some people but my first Death Metal band was Cannibal Corpse, their album Kill was a Killer (see what I did there?). I knew that when I first heard Kill, I was hooked and one band led to another, and another and so on.

2 How many hours do you spend each day listening to Extreme music? Would you say you're addicted?
Hell yeah I’m addicted. Depending on my Mood, if I’m in a black metal/death metal Mood I might just sit there for hours on End just going through youtube and websites looking for new music to listen to.

3 Which bands you Saw live were the best?
I’ve never seen a DM band live… its on my bucket list though

4 What is your favorite Death Metal album, Black Metal, Thrash Metal and/or Grindcore?
Oh golly, this is a very hard one

Death metal: Krypts – Open the Crypt
Probably my favourite Death Metal album, well… it’s the only one that comes to mind when I think of “death metal” and “favourite”

Black metal: Taake - Hordalands doedskvad
Easy, this album is just amazing, its so uplifting and adventurous it gets my Blood boiling at some points. I could probably sit there for a whole day just listening to this album.

Thrash metal: Megadeth – Rust in Peace
I’m not a Thrash Metal fanatic, but holy cow Rust in Peace is an excellent album and I found its super Addictive right from the very beginning.

Grindcore: Carcass – Reek of Putrefaction
One of the only Grindcore albums I know of

5 Though they may not be the best, which records did you most play up till now?
Cannibal Corpse’s Kill album, according to my itunes library, I’ve played it 225 times

6 What are the tracks/songs you just can't get enough of?
I just can’t get enough of Rose Funeral’s Desolate Form. Ok, if you haven’t heard their 2011 album, you’re probably thinking “hey, they ain’t Death Metal, they’re deathcore… know the difference retard”. I don’t know about everyone else, but I reckon their album is in a similar vein to Fleshgod Apocalypse’s Mafia album which is by no Means deathcore. I just love the structure and texture of that track, just amazing

7 How much do you value your CDs (or tapes or LPs) and what do they represent to you?
Because I have parents who interrogate me on everything I buy and due to the Fact that the CD shop in town has a terrible selection, I have to resort to online stores such as i-tunes. So I don’t have many CDs at all.

8 Do you listen to less Extreme music or are you without Mercy for any other genres?
I’m definitely not a metal elitist and I hope to never be one. I listen to everything from post-rock to raw Black Metal and Beyond, go figure.

9 What is the country that does best represent Death Metal in your opinion? Do you like one period in particular?
Well it depends on which type of Death Metal we’re looking at, if we’re talking about OSDM and modern Death Metal in general it’ll definitely the United States. If I ever visit that country, I’m definitely going to pick up a t-shirt or two.

If were talking about melodic death, Sweden takes the cake. Bands like Arch Enemy were pretty much the face of melodic death and I believe they still are.

10 Is there some visual content that you find laughable and/or bands you think that really suck eggs?
Uhhh… I’m not sure what is meant by this question but a lot of the cover art in pornogrind is completely and utterly retarded. Not to mention some of the lyrical themes as well.

11 You're a band manager, what would be the Death Metal dreamteam for you: drummer, bass player, guitar player(s) and vocalist.
Hmmm, I don’t know many (any) artists… Put it this way, I judge bands as a whole, I don't just pick out a single member.

12 Looking back at the previous year (2008), which albums do you think have become cult classics?
By 2008, you mean 2011 right?
Just kidding, I’m not entirely sure about this one. I think that Anaal Nathrakh’s Passion seemed to be really popular around the metal community.

13 In your opinion, which 5 Death Metal bands are today's champions (please no ultra underground band, bands that really count in today's Death Metal)?

Necrophagist (they’ve been dormant for a while now)
Bloodbath
Suffocation
Nile
Origin

14 You've heard of deathcore, do you think it's Death Metal?

Ummm, deathcore is just deathcore. Although now there seems to be a lot of overlap between the two scenes.

15 Last but not least, here's your chance to pick up the 10 best Death Metal records of all times.

Well, If I had a chance to pick up 10 death metal CDs it would be

Nile – Those Whom the Gods Detest
Skinless - Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead
Carcass – Heartwork
Guttural Secrete - Reek of Pubescent Despoilment
Ossarivm – Emanation (don’t even know if CDs exist)
Portal – Seepia (thanks to Mercenarion)
Bodysnatch - Insights Of A Rotten Theatre
Severed Savior - Servile Insurrection
