You would think that after an extensive two-month tour of Europe, as well as years as one of the most stalwart hardcore bands in hardcore with years of touring and playing, Walls of Jericho would be ready for a much-deserved respite. You would be wrong. After playing their first show in almost two years in the Detroit area this June, and then playing one of the strongest sets at this year's Hellfest in Syracuse, NY, as well as headlining RiotFest in Belgium, being a hardcore band on the road is the only way to go. "Touring is essential," relates singer Candace Kucsulian, "we thrive on live performances, and feel it's important for people to see us live so they can connect with us. Personally, it gets me fired up to feed off the energy of everyone who is dancing and singing along, really getting into the show. " Especially after their almost two year hiatus, Candace, along with guitarists Mike Hasty and Chris Rawson, bassist Aaron Ruby, and drummer Alexi Rodriguez are all especially anxious to share their new-found zeal for their band and the music from their new CD, "All Hail the Dead," to be released February 24 on Trustkill Records. "All Hail the Dead" is their strongest release to date, a culmination of honest growth and experience - a combination of ferocity, maturity, heartfelt emotion, technical brilliance, and above all a desire to communicate something substantial, honest and positive to their devoted fans in the midst of a music scene encumbered by vanity and fake corporate music concoctions disguised as underground music with supposed street credibility.
